The Witches of Eastwick
At the beginning of October 2024, 20 years have passed since the opening of the Musical Stage. The opinions of many naysayers who claimed in 2004 that the Brno City Theatre would own an unused, useless building after a few seasons now seem like just smiling memories. The Brno musical stage has already permanently entered the (not only) Czech theatre map, and the list of premieres listed here is filled with new productions every year, whether they are premieres of original titles or performances of classic musicals. In connection with the celebrations of this anniversary, we have decided to return to a musical that many audiences still remember today. Thanks to almost 150 reruns that have taken place since the premiere in 2007, when people hear the name The Witches of Eastwick, they often think of this production rather than the original book or film, which brought Petr Štěpán the prestigious Thalia Award for his portrayal of the demonic Darryl Van Horn.

The title of the world-famous verse drama by Edmund Rostand in a dance adaptation? Of course! The main character of the play, namely the famous swordsman and poet Cyrano, directly invites you to grasp it in the ballet adaptation. The well-known story is not only about deep love, but above all about the opposition of inner and outer beauty. She chooses the physical beauty in Christian, only to realize at the end of the story that she has loved the beauty of Cyrano's soul all her life.

Rolling Stones Revival Band Brno
The members of the Rolling Stones Revival Brno love the ringing guitar sound, Pilsner beer and Keith Richards, who claims about his unique guitar playing style: “you have five strings, two fingers and one asshole.” It’s not enough to imitate the Stones. There has to be pure authentic energy. Joy. Thrilling fun that will absorb everyone on stage and in the audience. Rock’n’roll! Laďa Kruta / Mick Jagger Radim Zelina / Keith Richards Richard Měřínský / Bill Wyman Karel Brožek / Charlie Watts Jan Růžička / Ronnie Wood
The Troops of Doom (BR) + Refore + Sanatorium (SK) + Mörghuul
Brazilian band The Troops of Doom is going on a short tour of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where they will be accompanied by Refore and Sanatorium. Mörghuul will be the guest of the Brno stop. THE TROOPS OF DOOM (BR) Jairo "Tormentor" Guedz was in Sepultura from 1985 to 1987 and was at the birth of the albums Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation. As a return to this era, he founded a band called "The Troops of Doom" in 2020 and they will come from Brazil to smash Brno with their powerful thrash metal! REFORE The Wallachian thrash band is already a better-known name on the domestic scene, they released the album "Illusion of Existence" last year and are making the most of it, which they will perform with this year! SANATORIUM (SK) A legend of Slovak death metal! The band, which has been active since 1994, has taken a break and is now back to smash everyone's heads in the hardest way possible. MÖRGHUUL A local hellish group that holds nothing sacred! This band needs no introduction to the locals, their dirty black/speed metal leaves no stone unturned.
Verdi's Aida is one of his masterpieces, which contains none of the guaranteed ingredients of a romantic Italian opera - love, jealousy, political intrigue, large choral scenes and inevitable tragic death. Of course, this also includes a great singing cast, in this case Csilla Boross, Sung Kyu Park, Luis Cansino, Aleš Jenis and others. This will also be the first time that our company will collaborate with our junior ballet company NdB2 on this production. It was Verdi who usually chose the themes to be set to music, but in this case the offer came from outside. The opera was originally commissioned by the Egyptian viceroy Isma´il Pasha for the opening ceremonies of the Suez Canal and for the newly built Cairo Opera House. The productions usually focus on the secret lovers Radames and Aida, but what if we looked at the whole story through the eyes of Amneris, whose love for Radames is determined to win her at any cost, unaware that the price will ultimately be human lives, including the life of her chosen one?
Janoska Ensemble (Slovakia) – Antonio Vivaldi – The Four Seasons

The members of the ensemble are united not only by family ties, but also by a common musical vision. Their virtuosity and improvisational art allow them to perform a wide repertoire, from works of the classical repertoire to their own compositions and arrangements, crossing genre boundaries.
Sugar! (Someone likes it hot)
The musical was based on the legendary film Some Like It Hot with Marilyn Monroe. It is unbelievable, but the aforementioned film was first screened almost sixty years ago, in 1959. The musical of the same name then achieved extraordinary success worldwide, and in December 2008 it was brought to the stage of the Municipal Theatre in Ljubljana, Slovenia, by director Stanislav Moša. He has now also taken on the direction of the production in our theatre. Two poor musicians accidentally get caught up in a war between mafia gangs. They are being hunted and have no choice but to hide safely. They change into women's clothes and get hired by a band going on tour to Miami Beach. Florida becomes a unique opportunity for the homeless musicians to disappear from the mafia's sight... However, their crazy adventure is far from over! Thanks to their disguises, they experience countless comical situations, and to top it all off, both of our heroes fall in love with a magical singer and ukulele player named Sugar.
Manon Lescaut
Director Stanislav Moša has staged Nezval's text for the second time, the first time in 1995, when the theatre celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with this production in the newly renovated hall on Lidická Street. At that time, the director and manager wrote about Nezval's text: "There is little Czech theatre literature that can be said to be a poem. Through it speaks a true passion bound by an amazing form enchanted in the beauty of the Czech language." Moša's adaptation of Manon Lescaut, which was subtitled "lyrical drama-confession", broke away from the linear narrative of the well-known story and created a timeless parable. The old abbé des Grieux recalls his fateful relationship with a sinful saint, which gives the originally lyrical story dramatic dimensions and brings to life long-ago secrets, hints and loves in the memories of a man at the end of his life.
Olympic: Bombarďák tour 2025
Olympic is heading to Brno for one of its Bombardák tour stops.
Unwound (USA) + FVTVRE
UNWOUND (USA) The band that defined the post-hardcore sound of the 90s is returning to the stage after more than two decades! Born in 1991 during the Riot Grrrl and grunge boom, Unwound shone from the brightest corner of the underground with their biting and experimental spirit. As one of the key names of the Kill Rock Stars label, they completely changed the rules of the game with the album Future of What. During their ten-year existence, the band also released their material on iconic labels such as Gravity, Troubleman Unlimited and Matador, before going silent in 2002. FVTVRE Echoes of the early “San Diego sound” with members of Sunshine, Clou, 50m Znak and others. The mutual chemistry of four charismatic figures creates a poisonous noise-punk cocktail.
Last 4 performances. Special guest in the role of Alcina Magdalena Kožená. Dub Pistols (UK)
Dub Pistols grew out of the big beat explosion of the mid-nineties. A reaction to the formulaic house music, where thanks to the wonders of sampling technology they could incorporate literally anything into a dance tune. Inspired by the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim, Barry Ashworth and Jason O'Bryan began creating dense beats and their bombastic single "There's Gonna Be A Riot" was signed to Concrete Records, a subsidiary of DeConstruction. Their debut album Point Blank was released in 1998 and other recordings were not long in coming.

YOUNG BLOOD or MUSIC CLOSE UP I
The Brno Philharmonic Orchestra Academy is a project that allows young talented musicians – students or recent graduates of music schools accepted on the basis of a selection procedure – to gain orchestral experience in a professional ensemble. In this way, the Philharmonic educates new generations of players who may one day join its ranks. The OAFB has been operating for six seasons and its fruits are already evident: some of its graduates are already members of our orchestra, others regularly return to help out. The importance and value of this experience for the artistic growth of young musicians and for the future of the orchestra is therefore unquestionable.

The Addams Family
A mysterious, gloomy house in a secluded area outside the city near a cemetery. Here lives the somewhat peculiar Addams family, whose members delight in creepy and morbid humor. Their favorite color is black and they consider death to be the most beautiful thing in life. However, the Addams family's daily, terrifying routine changes drastically when young Wednesday brings her new boyfriend Lucas. Lucas' parents are also scheduled to visit this demonic household, and Wednesday, who is in love and has been replaced, demands that her relatives behave normally. Like normal people - that is, completely different from what they are used to. The members of the strange Addams family first appeared in 1938 in a comic strip by Charles Addams, and their stories were then published in The New Yorker magazine for five decades until the author's death in 1988. It takes place not, as is usually the case, in the summer during the harvest festival, but during the carnival season, or as we call it in Moravia, carnival! So you can look forward not only to comedians in the 3rd act, but also to a series of genuine Moravian carnival masquerades.

Tomorrow will be...
A fabricated trial through the lens of the online world. The judicial murder of M. Horáková is one of the darkest chapters in our modern history. The chamber opera Tomorrow Will Be… does not attempt a literal reconstruction, but opens up a broader perspective. Could a similar tragic story take place today? Although M. Horáková's suffering cannot be compared to anything, can the anonymous online space become a modern courtroom? A chamber opera by Aleš Březina and Jiří Nekvasil from 2008, based on the trial of Milada Horáková. The work won the Alfréd Radok Prize and the Sazka and Divadelné noviny Prize. The judicial murder of Milada Horáková is one of the darkest chapters in our modern history. She was convicted in a fabricated trial by a regime that persecuted and liquidated its opponents for decades. Totalitarian power, ideology and fear. Her death – senseless and cruel – became a symbol of courage, conscience and human dignity.
Mr. Lynx is half lynx and half human, Michal. After revealing himself to Michal, he dragged him into the depths of his own imaginary inner forest to create a debut album about self-discovery called "Kdo se bojí, musť do lesa". On it, Michal took on practically all the instruments and vocals, with the assistance of guests, among whom are such names as Michael Kocáb, Michal Pavlíček, the Homolov brothers from Wohnout, Štěpán Smetáček and others. Musically, it is a pompous combination of "dirty" grunge guitars, decadent piano and expressive, almost musical vocals. We can hear references to bands such as Pražský Výbór, Queen or Alice In Chains. Mr. Lynx chose only the best musicians for live performances: Jan Lichtenberg (guitar), Josh Root (guitar), Filip Vavřička (keyboards), Zdeněk Imramovský (bass), Luboš Samek (drums).
Christina Mantis | Island Mint
Christina Mantis is a musician who is distinguished by her original songs and lyrics representing honest, sometimes sarcastic statements about her personal life. In her work, she also addresses the topics of the position of women in society, interpersonal relationships and the everyday revolution that an individual can make. Thanks to vintage elements, she brings an impression of a kind of rough elegance to the stage. Island Mint Ecstatic melodies, dream worlds, playful songwriting and careful production. This is how the band Island Mint could be characterized, which has been stirring the waters of the Czech and European music scene since 2021. The well-coordinated five successfully convinces audiences in European clubs and festivals that the sun really shines. The judges of the Czeching Radia Wave competition also woke up to this, sending the band to the largest European showcase festival Eurosonic Noorderslag 2024 as the most relevant project on the current Czech scene.
WICCANS (USA) + HOST
WICCANS (USA) Formed in 2009 in Denton, Texas, Wiccans emerged as a ferocious yet hypnotic force in hardcore punk, blending the raw aggression of early Boston hardcore with the swirling, melodic mysticism of '70s psychedelic rock. Often described as what would happen if SS Decontrol and Blue Öyster Cult violently collided, the band carved out a singular niche with their wild, inventive sound.

Her Godmother
Jenůf pastorkyňa is one of Janáček's most famous works and is a permanent part of the Brno Opera's repertoire. It began as a realistic drama by Gabriela Preissová, which the composer himself adapted into an opera libretto. Although he had to shorten the text of the drama significantly, he managed to deepen the effect of the tragic story from the Moravian countryside. The prodigal and unstable Števa, the violent and yet at heart kind Laca, and above all the relentless Kostelnička, whose efforts to maintain her position and respect in the village community lead her to murder the child of her ward Jenůfa. Janáček (1854–1928) captured the individual characters in a masterful dramatic short story that is chilling, yet at the same time arouses compassion and understanding in us. The final form of the work, marked by the death of the composer's daughter Olga, was a long and thorny path. After its successful premiere in Brno in 1904, Jenůfí pastorkyňa had to wait twelve long years before Janáček's efforts were crowned with well-deserved success on other domestic and foreign stages.
