Emma and Jordan are adding another concert to their sold-out show at the Kabinet MÚZ on January 7th! Emma and Jordan's Czech and international roots are key to their musical creation. They work and perform both independently and together, drawing inspiration from a wide range of styles — soul, R&B, indie-rock, hip hop, electronica, and 1980s pop. Their hits include the duets By Now, No Fire, Love Is Blind, and Lost and Found. They have performed with the band at major Czech and Slovak festivals, including Colours of Ostrava, Grape, and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

Like other Verdi works, however, Nabucco also hides another, more intimate layer about love, the two sisters Fenena and Abigail and their conflict for the love of their beloved man and father. Verdi portrayed everything with the feeling of a true playwright, and the music full of immediacy, passion and temperament rightly captivates the audience to this day.

Fleret is a Czech folk rock band. Since 1995, when the CD Zafúkané was released, folk singer and folklorist Jarmila Šuláková has often performed with the band. In the 1990s, Vlasta Redl also played with the band.

Severní přístupíšte is a folk band with a variable number of members and instruments, but the most important component is the number of singing voices. In their work, Severní přístupíšte connects a wide range of inspirations and sources, from city fires to wandering through the open countryside, but the common denominator remains the good old song. After the EP About Rats and About Wolves, the albums Rostli jsme spolu and Orel, netopýr a pes, Severní přístupíšte in Brno will christen an EP called Nové písně. It was recorded in Prachatice's Živá vila and Tropical cell studio, with Lukáš Polák taking care of the sound and mixing. The album will be released on cassette, traditionally on the Silver Rocket label.

Ivo "Spyder" Křižan - an American musician of Czech origin, has played and collaborated with many prominent musicians such as Jeff Beck, Doug Lunn, Henri Bozzie, Mitch Mitchell and others. For many years he played in black club bands, especially in California, which were a great school of rhythm and blues for him. Spyder alternates his musical activities both abroad and on the Czech music scene, and his concert promises an extraordinary musical experience.

Throughout the theatre season, fans of the Brno Municipal Theatre can vote for their favourite actor, actress, director, designer, composer and individual production - especially musical and dramatic - through polls published in the magazine Dokořán. One of the January days in the theatre traditionally belongs to the ceremonial announcement of the results of the audience poll, which is called "Wings". Every such evening is in a festive spirit, every year is different, unrepeatable and, let us hope, unforgettable. The evening, not only full of brilliance, but also many surprises and interesting experiences, is an appreciation of the acting performances in the productions of the past season and, on the part of the actors, a thank you for the audience's support. Roman Horký and the now legendary band Kamelot, active on the Czechoslovak music scene since 1982, will present their latest musical creation on the stage of the Mahen Theatre. The new album, entitled "... in the waiting room", will be officially christened on January 11th on the occasion of the band's first concert in the new calendar year 2026.

At the beginning was a short novella by the French writer Prosper Merimée about Don José, who deserted the army due to a foolish passion for a wild gypsy woman, became a smuggler and a murderer. Carmen, directed by Tomáš Pilar, returns to the original story and reveals additional layers of individual characters - the characters here are mainly people who came from completely different backgrounds. It is not just about Carmen's fleeting and unbridled love, which the jealous José cannot cope with. It is a clash of two worlds - the orderly, neat world of José and Micaëla, bound by predetermined rules, and the world of gypsies and smugglers living from day to day, without laws and controlled by momentary impulses. Their worlds suddenly intersect, but this difference causes tension and a clash that leads to the complete destruction of both of them. Neither of them is able to prevent it, because neither is willing or able to back down.

WBand acoustic plays modern blues mixed with elements of funk, soul and rock. In an unplugged version you will hear blues standards and their own creations based on the distinctive expression of singer Michaela in a kind of Joplin-like sound. Two acoustic guitars, which are complemented by drums and an electric double bass, sound very compact and convincing. The band in this acoustic lineup regularly performs in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, so don't miss this interesting musical offer.

A unique concert by Dan Bárta & Illustratosphere, eleven-time winner of the Anděl Award in the categories Singer of the Year and Singer of the Quarter Century, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the release of their debut eponymous album! As part of the tour called Silver Wedding, the standard lineup of the Illustratosphere group will be specially expanded by the duo Lash & Grey with singer Kristína Mihaľová, rising stars on the domestic and Slovak music scene.

You can often hear their howls, which sound like a mysterious and melancholic song.” The magic of Tornádo Lue is still working. In 2023, after a long twenty years of waiting, the band released their next regular album Oči slnka with ten new recordings that map the current stage of the band's development.

Who doesn't know Figaro, the barber who not only gives you a beautiful haircut, but also willingly helps you with love troubles. Enjoy Rossini's brilliant melodies in a classic production in the style of commedia dell'arte directly from the Italian team. The young Count Almaviva has fallen in love with the beautiful girl Rosina and wants to marry her. But the older doctor Bartolo, who is Rosina's guardian, is also interested in her and especially her dowry. Fortunately, Almaviva's old acquaintance - the barber Figaro - appears on the scene. He is always ready with some little intrigue or disguise and, after a series of crazy situations, he finally wins the hand of his beloved for Almaviva. Who would have expected that one of the most famous and popular operas in the world would enter the stage amid a major scandal. The audience's boos, a black cat on stage, an out-of-tune guitar. Whatever could go wrong, did go wrong, but nothing could take away the beauty of Rossini's sparkling melodies and the wit of the brilliant libretto. And so, even today, theatergoers can expect virtuoso singing performances and melodies that will have you humming on the way home.

BOUND TO BREAK (alternative metal, Brandýs nad Labem) This foursome is taking the stage by storm, as evidenced by packed clubs across the country, crowds of fans in their merch, and thousands of streams. Their music combines hardness, emotion, rawness, and melody - all with their own unique twist.

CRANIAL VOID (death metal/deathcore, Bratislava) Their extreme metal finest is coming from Slovakia. Cranial Void will knock people out on their asses both at the concert and on the record. Two worldviews, one border between them – one embodies reason and light, the other is elemental, dark and irrational. One night, a charismatic shepherd arrives at the Christian court of King Roger, disrupting the established order of Christian values ​​and worldview. Does his teaching bring joy and goodness or only destruction and chaos? The opera King Roger by Polish composer Karol Szymanowski does not offer a clear answer; he himself described it as a mystery whose theme is man’s self-knowledge, his sexuality and spirituality.

TEMORA – Temora have only been on the scene for a short time, but they have quickly managed to capture the attention with their putrid death metal.

Jan Smigmator 40 – Mr. Swing Tour 2026 On the occasion of his 40th birthday, singer Jan Smigmator will embark on a major tour across the Czech Republic in 2026, which he will start in one of his most favorite concert halls, the acoustically perfect Sono music club in Brno. The aptly named Mr. Swing Tour 2026 will start on his birthday, January 17, with a concert to which he has invited several exclusive foreign guests. Accompanied by his band, consisting of the top Czech jazz musicians, he will sing both time-tested hits from the great American songbook, as well as his own songs and several absolute new songs. Only in Brno will there be a series of unique duets with guests and an official birthday afterparty with the birthday boy, all musicians and VIP guests. A limited number of tickets for the afterparty will go on sale a month before the concert, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. The names of the exclusive guests of the birthday concert will be gradually revealed throughout 2025.

Mark Guiliana drums, percussion One of the most prominent cross-genre drummers of our time has a portfolio that anyone could envy. His services have been used by, among others, Avishai Cohen, Brad Mehldau, St. Vincent, David Bowie, Meshell Ndegeocello, Gretchen Parlato, Lionel Loueke and Tigran Hamasyan. But he also has his own solo career and will come to Brno as its protagonist. Mark Guiliana was born in 1980 in New Jersey and attended William Paterson University, where he graduated in jazz in 2003. However, he has a cross-genre, rather conceptual approach to the instrument, thanks to which he was able to create the electric duo Mehliana with Brad Mehldau, who plays synthesizers. Probably Guiliana's most famous work is the album Blackstar, the last work of one of the greatest geniuses of popular music, David Bowie. His playing style is truly "wide-ranging", he has perfectly mastered acoustic jazz playing, he can add rock or funk intensity and directness to his playing, as well as play with the colors of electronic instruments and unusual rhythms typical of progressive and avant-garde music.

Guitarist Tom Brooke and drummer Tuomas Kainulainen, the duo of NYOS, are known for their immersive and often physically demanding live performances. The duo has carved out a niche for themselves in the European experimental and post-rock scene with their polyrhythmic complexity and hypnotic layering. They have toured extensively during their first decade, supporting acts such as Zeal & Ardor, Esben and the Witch and The Comet Is Coming, as well as festivals such as Sideways Festival in Helsinki, Fekete Zaj in Hungary and Pelagic Fest in the Netherlands. “The new record is more ambitious in its soundscapes and song compositions,” says guitarist Tom Brooke of their new album Growl. QUEENSHOW, a unique tribute band dedicated to the legendary British band QUEEN, is returning to Czech stages after a successful concert at the Freddie Celebration Days festival in Montreux, Switzerland. In May 2025, fans can look forward to a performance in Jihlava, where the band will present a program full of QUEEN's greatest hits. The concert setlist includes iconic songs such as "We Will Rock You", "I Want to Break Free", "Radio Ga Ga" and the unforgettable "Bohemian Rhapsody". A musical ensemble composed of young musicians with a passion for live playing and improvisation. Under the leadership of bandleader Mojmír Bártek, they perform in the rhythm of jazz, swing, Latin and jazz rock.

On February 13, 2009, one of the most famous musical titles written in the twentieth century premiered at the Music Stage of the Brno City Theatre. The story of the escaped galley slave Jean Valjean, based on Hugo's famous novel of the same name Les Misérables (1862), won the hearts of audiences not only in Brno during more than 130 reruns, and Petr Gazdík won the prestigious Thalia Award for his portrayal of the lead role. The Brno production thus only confirmed the quality of the work, which after its premiere in 1985 in London and two years later on Broadway, literally flew around the world and became one of the longest-running musicals in the West End. It should be added that the world premiere took place in Paris in 1980 and the musical's worldwide success was ensured by the production care of musical magician Cameron Mackintosh.
