Jaroslav Rudiš & U-Bahn: Nebe pod Berlínem + Vlasta
Jaroslav Rudiš returns to Kabinet with the band U-Bahn. “This book changed my life. It forced me to continue writing and wandering through history and the present. I never would have thought that readers would take it on a journey to the German metropolis, or that a real U-Bahn band would be created. I wrote “Heaven Under Berlin” dazzled by the Berlin underground and its stories. Nowhere else is this changing and fleeting city as interesting as here. There is also something constant in the noise and movement of trains and people. Only here in the underground is it possible to try to grasp and understand Berlin. At least that's how it seemed to me at the time," says Jaroslav Rudiš about the new edition of the novel Nebe pod Berlinem and adds: "Years later, I reread the book and slightly edited and adjusted it. Here and there I threw something out, here and there I added something. I feel that there is a certain timelessness in this "Nebe pod Berlinem" that does not age."

It should be added that the world premiere took place in Paris in 1980 and the musical's worldwide success was ensured by the production care of musical magician Cameron Mackintosh.

Verdi's Aida is one of his masterpieces, which contains none of the guaranteed ingredients of a romantic Italian opera - love, jealousy, political intrigue, large choral scenes and inevitable tragic death. Of course, this also includes a great singing cast, in this case Csilla Boross, Sung Kyu Park, Luis Cansino, Aleš Jenis and others. This will also be the first time that our company will collaborate with our junior ballet company NdB2 on this production. It was Verdi who usually chose the themes to be set to music, but in this case the offer came from outside.
