A fairy tale about living water
King David had three sons. George, James and the youngest John. When the king fell ill, Queen Anežka remembered an old, strange dream about the existence of miraculous living water. The hopes and thoughts of the entire kingdom are now focused on it, and it is up to the young princesses to gradually set out into the world and try to obtain the living water and save the life of the dying king. And as is often the case in good fairy tales, the path to a happy ending is complicated, full of adventures and pitfalls, and three cursed princesses cannot be missing. The domestic author duo Stanislav Moša and Zdenek Merta are returning to the stage in the 20th anniversary season of the Music Scene with a new project, which this time is a story based on the best Czech fairy tale tradition. A magical adventure in a world where the good prince is helped by ants, a bear and an eagle, where three enchanted princesses, thanks to their purity, help to expose falsehood, and where a kind and loving word is of the highest value, promises to be a magical spectacle for the whole family.
Záviš - OPEN AIR for the second time!
The first Záviš Open Air was a phenomenal success, so we decided to invite Záviš again before Melodka, in September!
DR. KARY + COCOMAN + LIQUID A + PAWLAČ ZEWLS
“Fully and gratefully. As long as it’s possible, it will play. I want to meet you, sing, hug and enjoy it,” says Ondřej Háša – MC Dr. Kary, whose life suddenly changed due to an insidious disease. In twenty years on the music scene, Cocoman has managed to incarnate into many different roles. He was a dreaded reggae singer with a Jamaican cut, a thoughtful folk artist with a guitar at his acoustic shows, a wildly dancing DJ and creator in the EDM project Sirene Factory, a crazy chemist from the band Nevereš, or perhaps the eminence grise Coco Jammin – a production that is behind a whole bag of essential domestic reggae recordings of recent years. He is the holder of two Anděl awards and has long been the most active Czech artist inspired by reggae music. He started playing in 1993 after his return from the USA, where he became more familiar with styles such as acid jazz, dub and reggae. He was one of the first representatives of drum'n'bass in our country, especially in its acid jazz phase. He collaborated with many musicians and MC's, among whom was Dr. Kary, whom he brought to light.

Don Quijote
One of the pillars of the classical ballet legacy is the ballet Don Quixote to the music of Ludwig Minkus, inspired by Cervantes' famous novel The Ingenious Don Quixote of La Mancha. It describes the adventures of the hero, the knight Don Quixote, who is torn by imaginations moving between illusion and reality. However, the ballet productions use Cervantes' story in their libretto only as inspiration and pretext. All the stage action is centered around the young loving couple Basilio (Basil) and Quiteria (Kitri), who are hindered by the rich suitor Comacho (Gamacho). Only thanks to Don Quixote will their love be fulfilled.
Becouse of Blue
The idea for the band Because of Blue was born completely unexpectedly. It is said that once you fall for bluegrass, you usually never leave this genre. But somewhere in the subconscious of Pomněnka (Early Times) and Jirka (BlueRej) lurked the blue tones of the blues, the swinging rhythm of swing or the urgency of soul, and in terms of content, the desire to tell stories. When they found out that they had a few interesting songs at their disposal, they started arranging them for two guitars and Pomněnka's voice. Gradually, however, other original songs were created, and just two guitars were no longer enough. And then, at the right time, the experienced Olomouc bassist Vojek (HB Band, formerly also Plíharmonie, Jazz za Bukem and others) appeared. They realized that all three were tuned to the same note and agreed that their music should not only swing, but also that the lyrics should tell real stories from life. And because, of course, they are sometimes "blue", as is the case in life, they try to entertain the listeners with a funny, or at least surprisingly unexpected, denouement.

Pretty Woman
A pretty, sweet and smart girl from a very poor background meets a rich, charming but slightly snobbish man. Although they are separated by vast social differences, they fall in love and change each other. This time it is not a Cinderella fairy tale, but a story that is just as popular and widely known. It is enough to add that the main characters of this romantic love story are named Vivian and Edward, she is a prostitute and he is a businessman, and everyone will remember the film from 1990, in which Julia Roberts and Richard Gere starred. The American comedy film directed by Garry Marshall is undoubtedly one of the most popular films of the nineties, even though it was made at the beginning of the nineties. With a budget of 14 million dollars and earnings of 463 million, it is also one of the box office blockbusters and brought Julia Roberts not only a Golden Globe, but also launched her stellar career.

Handel: Anthem 1, Zadock the Priest
The music of Bizet's Carmen hides French esprit and Spanish passion. After all, who doesn't know immortal opera hits - the famous Habanera, or the aria of the bullfighter Escamillo. But what if there's something more hidden behind the story of the fleeting nature of love? At the beginning was a short novel by the French writer Prosper Merimée about Don José, who deserted the army because of a foolish passion for a wild gypsy woman, became a smuggler and a murderer. Carmen, directed by Tomáš Pilar, returns to the original story and reveals additional layers of individual characters - the characters here are mainly people who came from completely different backgrounds. It's not just about Carmen's fleeting and unbridled love, which the jealous José cannot cope with. It is a clash of two worlds – the orderly, neat world of José and Micaëla, bound by predetermined rules, and the world of gypsies and smugglers living day to day, without laws and governed by momentary impulses. Their worlds suddenly intersect, but this difference causes tension and conflict that leads to the complete destruction of both.

Rooty Shooters
Petr "Poss Pets" Pospíšil plays the double bass, whose slap will make even the most youthful double bass swell; Matěj "Foam" Fouma runs his fingers over the accordion keys to make the songs truly soulful; Robin "The BOB" Lefner plays the violin, who plays in a way that sounds like he has 12 strings, and Vítek "Snow White" Šnévajs strums the guitar, making chords that caress the soul.
Teeth and Nails (baptism) + Jiří Imlauf (baptism)
Zuby Nehty will christen the new vinyl edition of the album Srdce ven, released on Indies Scope. At the very beginning, two great friends Hanka Kubíčková and Pavla Fediuková from the Štěpánská gymnasium in Prague went home and wondered what band they would start after throwing their study bags in the corner, and Hanka said: “Gas.” That’s how the band’s name came about. Hanka and Pavla had been playing guitar and boxes in the living room together for some time. Tomáš Míka introduced Marek to the girls. She sat down at the piano and pounded it as hard as she could. Later, Kateřina Jirčíková joined on flute and saxophone and Alice Flesarová on saxophone. Lyrics and songs began to emerge and the band entered the Czech music scene. That was in the 1980s. What followed was a journey across the century.

PROGRAM A. Salieri: Piccolo Requiem, De profundis in G minor and others CONDUCTOR Roman Válek The Piccolo Requiem was composed by the author in 1804 for himself, but it was previously (1821) performed in Moravia, at the Náměšť nad Oslavou castle, and only after that (1825) was it actually performed at Salieri's funeral in Vienna.

DEMONS A Czech pop-rock band from Jihlava, which was formed in 2020 and combines elements of pop, rock and rap. Since 2024, the band has been performing in a new line-up with singer Anička Kühtreiberová, who you will also see on Melodka.
IMPOLITE We are the Impolite band. Although the name suggests otherwise, we are very decent, young, creative musicians from the Litomyšl and Vysoké Mýto area. We try to project a piece of ourselves into our music and create catchy, interesting melodies and lyrics that listeners will identify with. The genre that probably describes us the most is ‘emotional pop/rock’. Electric guitars are accompanied by colorful vocal harmonies, sometimes acoustic guitar, piano, or violin.
ÂME Live (DE)
Two friends meet outside Karlsruhe, in Schwarzwald. One is an explorer of galaxies far away, the other a composer of fragments. Together they create a joie de vivre, arranging and deconstructing their creations, their own formations. Beneath their feet, a stone world rests against the living world, touching rivers, mountains, forest floors and the first foot trails between Schwarzwald, Vosges Mountains and Naturpark Pfälzerwald.
This stone world is made of smooth subterranean rock that swirls and folds. Altered from its original igneous by pressures a hundred thousand years strong. What was once sharp is now smooth. Lines become curves, reversals. If you were to try read its origin, its strata, you would not tell which direction the past flowed or the future began.
