VDYD are a formative force on the Brno scene. This band has been around for years, played countless concerts, and influenced dozens of musical tastes. Although they only released their debut on Kabinet Records in 2021, their concerts have been well-attended since time immemorial. And it's no wonder; the mix of post-punk and indie rock that this band creates is absolutely unique and unforgettable. ENDEMIT is a jazzcore band from Brno. Their instrumental lineup is reminiscent of Mötorhead, or any other garage slush. The songs feature influences from New York downtown and bands like Black Midi, King Crimson, or Medeski Martin & Wood.

Our jazz/fusion/electro band Lawn Dogs was formed in the summer of 2018. Since then, we have played numerous concerts in Slovakia and abroad (Hungary, Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia) at various festivals and clubs.

Warm summer evenings are best spent under the stars with music, which is why the Janáček Opera NdB ensemble is once again bringing an opera performance to the romantic setting of Špilberk Castle this year. A timeless tragic story of a courtesan hoping for the happiness of true love. For a brief moment it seems so close, but it is only a dream. A chamber drama in the classic direction of Zbyněk Srba.

Traditional and new songs in Hebrew, Turkish and Arabic in original arrangements for voice, cello and electronics. The concert will take place on August 30, 2025 at Villa Tugendhat. Two musicians with immigrant roots – singer Nihan Devecioglu (Istanbul/Munich) and cellist Sasha Agranov (Haifa/Barcelona) – combine poetry, memories and stories of the search for identity. Their music draws on cultural diversity and the longing for home, connecting the old with the new and building bridges between worlds.

Nu Boycott: a Japanese whirlwind of experimental jazz, rock and polyrhythmic compositions led by Loui Yoshigaki. The Queues: a noisy brotherly power-duo that delivers a mix of garage rock and stoner with an intense expression.

Melody Makers presents a concert with an authentic interpretation of popular music from the 1920s to the 1940s – from early jazz to the golden era of swing. This time, the orchestra will be led by Vojtěch Havelka, a singer, actor and guitarist who has been performing alongside his father, Ondřej Havelka, for several years. Vojtěch continues the family musical tradition with an energy and elegance that will make the hall of the Besední dům dance.

On September 4, 2025, the piazzetta in front of the Janáček Theatre will come alive with an open air concert of the Janáček Opera NdB. 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM, you will start the season with us as a member of the NdB – fun stations for the whole family 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Concert conducted by four conductors of the Janáček Opera You can look forward to the soloists, choir and orchestra of the Janáček Opera NdB under the baton of chief conductor Robert Kružík and his colleagues Ondrej Olos, Jakub Klecker and Dominik Pernica. Together with them, you will take a look behind the scenes of the upcoming season and find out what musical surprises await you. This time, the Piazzetta will open to the audience in the afternoon, because a rich program for the whole family will be waiting for them before the concert, where they will be able to get acquainted with the NdB ensembles and theater professions.

Ivo "Spyder" Křižan - an American musician of Czech origin, has played and collaborated with many prominent musicians such as Jeff Beck, Doug Lunn, Henri Bozzie, Mitch Mitchell and others. For many years he played in black club bands, especially in California, which were a great school of rhythm and blues for him. Spyder alternates his musical activities both abroad and on the Czech music scene, and his concert promises an extraordinary musical experience.

Imagine if Nirvana and the Beatles had a child, and that child would grow up to be a rock singer and songwriter. That's Bryan Bielanski! Although this North Carolina talent draws inspiration from other rock greats like Tom Petty and REM, he has his own unique musical style and songs with lyrics that make you think (often quite deeply). In his American homeland, the media writes about him as an indie rock songwriter who aspires to be an icon of his genre and is a shining example of what great pop songs should look like. An evening with Bryan definitely promises a very relaxed experience with cheerful, sun-drenched music.

Michaela Koudelková is releasing her debut album on Supraphon. The album, titled "Corelli-Handel Sonatas", will be released in the Brno Conservatory Hall. She will be accompanied by Monika Knoblochová (harpsichord), Libor Mašek (baroque cello) and Jana Krejčí (theorbo, baroque guitar).

Petr Gazdík's birthday concert. Petr Gazdík has been connected to the Brno City Theatre all his life. He will celebrate his 50th birthday in the way he likes best. Therefore, we invite you to a concert that will be a meeting with friends and colleagues full of memories, music and mutual joy from the time spent together on and off stage. TEXAS TOAST CHAINSAW MASSACRE (USA) A high-energy crossover thrash metal band from Chicago that combines sharp riffs, humor and wrestling madness. Since their formation in 2011, Texas Toast Chainsaw Massacre have earned a reputation as a band that knows no bounds live – their concerts are a mix of moshpits, laughter and stagediving with inflatables, foam bars and wrestling “fights” for their own championship belt. With albums like Til Death Do Us Party, Busey Up Your Ass and the recent Super Turbo, they have established their place on the American thrash scene: fast riffs, comedic lyrics and pop culture references with an uncompromising soundtrack ranging from Gang Green to Municipal Waste. They have shared the stage with Ghoul, DRI, Havok, Lich King and Nekrogoblikon and they don’t forget why they do it all – for fun. Come and "get your head smashed" and laugh your heart out at the same time. This thrash ride doesn't take itself seriously and is deadly good.

Come play. Drums, keyboards, guitar and microphones will be on site. Bass combo too. We will be happy to plug in and sound up other instruments.

Come and listen to the production team and soloists of the new production of Giuseppe Verdi's Aida. The preview will take place on September 10, 2025 at the Janáček Theatre and you can also watch it online. Verdi's Aida is one of his masterpieces, which lacks none of the guaranteed ingredients of a romantic Italian opera - love, jealousy, political intrigue, large choral scenes and inevitable tragic death. Of course, this also includes a great singing cast, in this case Csilla Boross, Sung Kyu Park, Luis Cansino, Aleš Jenis and others. This will also be the first time that our company will collaborate with our junior ballet company NdB2 on this production. The productions usually focus on the secret lovers Radames and Aida, but what if we looked at the whole story through the eyes of Amneris, whose love for Radames is determined to win her at any cost, unaware that the price will ultimately be human lives, including the life of her chosen one?

The Ornis string jazz trio will perform, consisting of Aneta Wirth - violin and vocals, Max Wittmann - guitar, Juraj Valach - double bass. The program will feature pleasant jazz, sung standards, and original compositions by Max Wittmann.

The Absolute Nightingale and the Golden Nightingale of 2023 and 2024 will perform in Brno! You will be able to enjoy this unique concert in the unforgettable atmosphere of the courtyard of Brno's Špilberk Castle at sunset. Ewa Farna is one of the most successful singers in the Czech Republic, where she has won several awards in the Czech Nightingale poll, released 5 regular albums, two "Best Of" compilations and several live recordings, including acoustic ones or with a symphony orchestra. She was also a judge of singing competitions and hosted two years of the Anděl music awards.

In twenty years on the music scene, Cocoman has managed to incarnate into many different roles. He was a dreaded reggae singer with a Jamaican cut, a thoughtful folk artist with a guitar at his acoustic shows, a wildly dancing DJ and creator in the EDM project Sirene Factory, a crazy chemist from the band Nevereš, or perhaps the eminence grise Coco Jammin – a production that is behind a whole bag of essential domestic reggae recordings of recent years. He is the holder of two Anděl awards and has long been the most active Czech artist inspired by reggae music. He started playing in 1993 after his return from the USA, where he became more familiar with styles such as acid jazz, dub and reggae. He was one of the first representatives of drum'n'bass in our country, especially in its acid jazz phase. He collaborated with many musicians and MC's, among whom was Dr. Kary, whom he brought to light.

We invite you to a swing dance hall in Ponava! From 6:00 PM, the energetic House Band Trio led by Petr Pospíšil will start the evening dancing. The first musical set will be complemented by a short dance taster, which will start at approximately 7:00 PM - an ideal opportunity for beginners and curious feet.

One of the pillars of the classical ballet legacy is the ballet Don Quixote to the music of Ludwig Minkus, inspired by Cervantes' famous novel The Ingenious Don Quixote of La Mancha. It describes the adventures of the hero, the knight Don Quixote, who is torn by imaginations moving between illusion and reality. However, the ballet productions use Cervantes' story in their libretto only as inspiration and pretext. All the stage action is centered around the young loving couple Basilio (Basil) and Quiteria (Kitri), who are hindered by the rich suitor Comacho (Gamacho). Only thanks to Don Quixote will their love be fulfilled.

The idea for the band Because of Blue was born completely unexpectedly. It is said that once you fall for bluegrass, you usually never leave this genre. But somewhere in the subconscious of Pomněnka (Early Times) and Jirka (BlueRej) lurked the blue tones of the blues, the swinging rhythm of swing or the urgency of soul, and in terms of content, the desire to tell stories. When they found out that they had a few interesting songs at their disposal, they started arranging them for two guitars and Pomněnka's voice. Gradually, however, other original songs were created, and just two guitars were no longer enough. And then, at the right time, the experienced Olomouc bassist Vojek (HB Band, formerly also Plíharmonie, Jazz za Bukem and others) appeared. They realized that all three were tuned to the same note and agreed that their music should not only swing, but also that the lyrics should tell real stories from life. And because, of course, they are sometimes "blue", as is the case in life, they try to entertain the listeners with a funny, or at least surprisingly unexpected, denouement.

Three bands celebrate their 15th anniversary with a joint concert.

Denoi is celebrating its 10th anniversary! The modern rock band has performed at major European festivals such as Woodstock Poland, the Ukrainian Faine Misto or Masters of Rock and toured with Eurovision winner Kalush Orchestra and Horkýže Slíže. Denoi are preparing a very special concert at Kabinet MÚZ, where they will remember the best moments of the last decade. It will be a bit of nostalgia, a bit of chaos and, above all, one big show. BLACK ROW – Now a four-piece metal band inspired mainly by the nu-metal scene from the turn of the millennium. They have released a number of EPs, including the long-awaited new record SURSTRÖMMING, released in May 2025.

Helmutova Syringa returns to the scene of the crime after a year, where they released their first LP last year. Local friend Gustavo Rojo will also perform again.

By the time Avi Kaplan launched his solo career in 2017, he'd already built an audience that stretched across the globe, racking up three Grammy Awards as a member of the platinum-selling vocal group, Pentatonix. In August of 2024, he released his first single as an independent solo artist, Move Our Souls, a debut which he would follow up in early 2025 with two more singles – Peace Somehow and Set Me Free – to drum up anticipation for his upcoming 5-track EP. The release of this project, entitled Move Our Souls – a fresh palette of high-energy sounds that will make you get up and dance – marks the start of a busy 2025 for the celebrated singer-songwriter.
