MACAQUE ACOUSTICUS

Originally a one-off project interpreting the electronic songwriting of singer, cellist and composer Kateřina Koutná, over time it grew into an autonomous band with its own repertoire. In 2020, they released the album Friendship. The music of Makak Akustikus has its roots in the natural forest outside the city rather than among the panels. A rare and extremely delicate, fragile interplay of four wooden instruments and human voices, where it pays to perceive the details and listen between the lines. Archetypal characters float through micro-stories, wild Vonts run out of backyards and Apaches fire at enemies from a rock. There are many things to take from all this, one of the possible messages is offered directly by the band: "Then turn on your lamp and don't be afraid to admit that you are afraid, that you are afraid."

RABBIT SLOW

The singer Rabbit Slow comes from Milotice in Slovakia and on his album Coming waves he tells stories about the search for human identity and home. "His compositions radiate intimate melancholy. They evoke the atmosphere of a photo album from a successful holiday party of friends. And no wonder. In addition to music, Petr Foltýn, hidden under the mentioned pseudonym, is also involved in photography. Like any good 'friend', he doesn't hesitate to remind us with his soothing voice in his songs that not everything is completely fine in today's world," writes AlterEcho.
