Who doesn't know the legendary warrior King Arthur? And the mythical castle of Camelot, where the Knights of the Round Table gathered to unite a divided Britain and fight against enemies and finally set out together to find the Holy Grail? We all know this legend. But perhaps the reality was a little different… The comedy group Monty Python was formed in an Indian restaurant in Hampstead, London, in May 1969, when five Britons and one American decided to join forces and create a comedy series for the BBC. Thus was born Monty Python's Flying Circus, a series full of sketches, absurd situations and supremely British humor; it aired for 4 seasons from 1969-1974 and has a total of 45 episodes. In addition to live shows, the "Pythons" then ventured into feature films, among others, the most famous of which are The Meaning of Life (1983), Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979) and Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1974).
