  • We present two sacred cantatas by J.S. Bach: No. 32 (Dearest Jesus, my desire) and No. 68 (God so loved the world) ● The most important Armenian composer of our time, Tigran Mansurjan, wrote his exceptionally forceful 2011 Requiem at the instigation of the conductor Alexander Liebreich and dedicated it to the victims of the 1915-1917 genocide of Armenians ● Mansurjan’s ascetic setting features an organic fusion of the Orient and the Occident: a liturgical text in Latin, more characteristic of Western culture, and influences from the liturgical chants of the Orthodox Church and Eastern folk music ● The work was honoured by the prestigious International Classical Music Awards 2018 and nominated for a Grammy in 2017 ● A personal appearance by the composer TBC
