The Brno performance of Brahms' Second Piano Concerto by Elisabeth Leonska was already planned for the end of February 2022. However, due to the illness of the soloist, it was cancelled. We are happy that we managed to find a date for this performance in the 2022/2023 season. Elisabeth Leonskaja has a loyal audience in Brno, which she won over already in autumn 2019 with a performance of Bartók's Third Piano Concerto and a complete set of Beethoven's piano concertos.
With the performance of Antonín Dvořák's Seventh Symphony, Dennis Russell Davies continues to fulfill one of his goals, which he set for his tenure as chief conductor at the Brno Philharmonic, namely the performance (and recording) of all of this composer's symphonies.
