Marital minioperas and kyogens

26/11/21, 19:30

Ensemble Opera Diversa and Kyjgen Theater organize a joint evening combining Japanese culture and art.
Robber Bride, Singing Groom, Man and Woman in Boat and Postman
Four short mini-operas - four short stories - are hidden under the name of the cycle Marriage Mini-Operas (created in 2006/2007) by "various" authors Ondřej Kyas (music) and Pavel Drábek (libretto). Their names are Robber Bride, Singing Groom, Man and Woman in a Boat and Postman. The mini-opera libretto The Robber Bride and the Singing Groom are based on Japanese farce kyogen, the libretto Men and Women in a Boat is based on the story of the Japanese art of rakugo.
Production team: Kateřina Křivánková (director), Sylva Marková (stage, costumes), Lucie Kašpárková (vocals - soprano), Aleš Janiga (vocals - baritone), Jakub Tuček (vocals - tenor), Marek Řihák (vocals - baritone). The Diversa Ensemble Quartet conducted by Jan Bělohlávek.
The Kyogen Theater will then play two Japanese "family" farces: Susugigawa - Great Lingerie, which is currently one of the most popular games of the genre, and Inabadó - Inaba Temple.
