RAT KRU balances on the border between art and kitsch, sometimes crossing both. Rat One (Witek) hidden behind a rat mask is responsible for the music component. His beats are characterized by a fast dance pace, and he is known, among other things, as a poet. Rapper Lew Winogradzki creates fragments of reality in his imaginative texts that stimulate the imagination. RAT KRU aptly call their musical genre concrete samba. They have successfully performed at concerts and festivals in Poland (Spring Break, Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Małe Granie) and abroad (Tallinn Music Week, Seasplash Festival).
The duo from Poznań was formed in 2016. Their "zero" album "RAT" combines dub, hip-hop and electronics. The second album "Year of the Rat" (Kayax) goes much further, here the genre palette includes both rave and euro-house. The premiere of the album was accompanied by the first video clip for the song "Ahoj.", which refers to the story of Jerzy Kalibabka called "Tulip". famous seducer and thief.
