Since ancient times, philosophers, scientists and artists have been excited by nature and its elements being mirrored in the human soul and by the concept of recognising and understanding human temperaments as a reflection of the world of natural elements. Countless references to the Hippocratic concept of the four temperaments can be found in music of the late Middle Ages and the poetic arrangement of topics dealing with human soul evoked the spirit of waking Renaissance.
