Zsolt Varady Band

17/06/22, 20:00

A quartet united around the virtuoso guitarist Zsolt Varady. The band's music is based on well-known songs of gypsy jazz (Django Reinhardt), bebop (Charlie Parker), but they also involve other influences: funk, soul, groove and Latin. The great musicality of all the musicians of the quartet guarantees typical aspects of the gypsy jazz genre: virtuoso guitar runs, passionate solos, dance rhythm, all with the sound of Spanish guitar, piano, accordion, double bass and percussion instruments. Guitarist Zsolt Varady comes from Rimavská Sobota, which is a Slovak town where mostly Hungarian is spoken. He performed with the band Igor Kmeť and in various jazz formations playing django jazz. It will not be without interest for experts that he is the cousin of the phenomenal guitarist Andreas Varadi, who plays in America under producer Quincy Jones.
