The current band was formed in 2003 from the original jazz-oriented Mocca Band (hereinafter referred to as MB) founded in 1988 in Montreal, Canada (Mocca = acronym for MOravian-CAnadian). Bandleader Zdeněk Denis Blažek returned from emigration in 1992 and, together with the excellent drummer Petr Kudibal, put together a Brno line-up playing jazz-rock and Latin. MB recorded several songs for the Brno Radio in 1991, even with several original members from Canada - they were guitarist Freddy Rizk, a student of the great jazz guitar player Joe Passe, and vibraphonist, bassist and excellent arranger Eval Manigat (+2008).
