The JazzFestBrno festival presents David Dorůžka Trio and Joe Lovano Classic Quartet.

David Dorůžka Trio:

David Dorůžka – guitar, Jiří Slavík – double bass, Martin Novák – drums

David Dorůžka, an important member of Czech jazz scene, releases a new album named Autumn Tales. It features five new pieces written by David as well as melodies drawn from Jewish music, a song written by Czech classical composer Bohuslav Martinů, an old jazz tune from the 1930’s and two pieces by Jiří Slavík.

Joe Lovano Classic Quartet:

Joe Lovano – saxophones, Lawrence Fields – piano, Peter Slavov – double bass, Carmen Castaldi – drums

Joe Lovano isn't only a jazz saxophonist, but also alto clarinetist, flautist, and drummer. Since the late 1980s, Lovano has been one of the world's premiere tenor saxophone players, described by critic Chris Kelsey of Allmusic as "the tenor titan for our times" and relentlessly creative and innovative, earning a Grammy Award and several mentions on Down Beat magazine's critics' and readers' polls.
