RUTKA LASKIER (Baptism)

Melodic hardcore, emo, punk directness and DIY approach. The band Rutka Laskier releases on 28.10. at the Brno label Kabinet Records 10" vinyl EP Krásná doba, which will also be available in digital form on the Spotify and Bandcamp platforms. The launch of the recording is planned for 11.11. at Kabinet MÚZ, where Pacino's related group will arrive.

The Krásná doba EP was created during the global pandemic (sometime from the beginning of 2020 until the fall of 2021). Rutka Laskier again recorded completely in the spirit of DIY, under the baton of bassist Pavel Sikora in the rehearsal room/studio in Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou. The band wanted to make a more musically striking and straightforward punk record, so the members decided on a shorter EP format on 10" vinyl, which will be transparent including the pocket. This means the imaginary loss of the veil of naivety and a straightforward view of the world. The cover was once again provided by the sixth non-playing member Radim Kasparek.

Krásná Doba was influenced by Brno brewpubs, Mostek pawnshops, life in a housing estate full of drugs and booze, escalating violence in the world, an aggressive polarized society and the pandemic, which intensified all these dark human currents. If the previous LP Protiklady was rather lyrical, the lyrics on Krásná voda are more epic and tell specific stories of real people without deeper internal analysis. The rustling of the trees was replaced by the shooting of people. A heart beating like a frightened bird replaced piko, mats and pornography. Friends fall into addictions and debt traps.

PACINO

Guitar trio from Orlová, which releases on the Stoned To Death label. Pacino is a spontaneous band whose Czech-sung lyrics and frenzied concert energy captivate the audience. For their debut album, Half a liter of land, they won the Vinyl award for the best record, and this year's recording Seven Worlds is also excellent and raw.
