UGLY GIRL (BAPTISM)

Stomping guitar hard rock, spiced with harsh saxophone, crowned with expressive vocals. That's how the Ugly Girl describes herself. Time flies and the band presented an unreleased song from the forthcoming second album, which will be called Driven by the Wind. The launch of the album, like the previous one, will take place in the Cabinet of the MÚZ.

In the case of this song, it is the character who gave the name to the entire song. "Žermína Vránová is classic rock'n'roll, the song was created in the mid-eighties as an acoustic piece that we played at student parties in pubs and in dormitories. It could be said that at that time she became popular in these circles. We cut the original version to a lot of spaniels and other random instruments from violins and woodwinds to spoons, this electric rock is fast and bouncy, as documented by the great video," said lyricist Jiří Strážnický about the new song.

As we are used to with fighters, the song in its studio version abounds with precise instrumental work. And of course also Karel Heřman's distinctive, bluesy vocals. "As far as the text is concerned, it's just a funny joke, harmless fun from the incorrect times when it was still possible," adds Strážnický bitterly but with a smile behind the UGLY GIRL.
