KHOIBA

The band KHOIBA played an important role in the Czech club scene in the first years of the new millennium. On the currently last album from 2019, several styles meet in terms of genre - from electronic experimentation to guitar layers, abstraction and detailed work with minimalistic melodic elements. It's 2023, and a new twin clip for Vertical Urgencies heralds a new album.

"I opened the floodgates to all creative and emotional processes that cannot be stopped," says musician and singer Ema Brabcová about the new single Vertical Urgencies. With it, the band Khoiba foreshadows the new album, which will be released in early 2023. "It was the first thing that we took by the shoulders and said to ourselves that this is what our new direction should look like," Brabcová says about the song, which is a celebration of that one does not have to have everything in life fully under control. The duo Ema Brabcová and Filip Míšek follow up the successful comeback from 2019 with the composition Vertical Urgencies, when they got back together as Khoiba after a long hiatus. They recorded their third album at the time, with which they continued the best of the introverted and emotional songwriting that was typical for Khoiba in its first era between 2002 and 2008. Together they recorded the albums Nice Traps (2004), Mellow Drama (2007) and Khoiba (2019) ). The fourth record will be released in March 2023, and graphic designer Zuzana Lednická will take care of its cover as well as the cover single.
