SAVAK (USA)

Growing old with music is not an easy thing - but there are musicians who, on the contrary, send out even more joyous energy back to the world as they get older. Savak members are a perfect example. After all, their line-up is in itself a walk through the history of an important part of the independent scene - in addition to Sohrab Habibion from Obits and Michael Jaworski from The Cops, the band also includes members of, without exaggeration, legendary bands such as Nation Of Ulysses, The Make-Up (occasional concert bassist James Canty, who also played with Ted Lee) and Enon or Holy Fuck (drummer Matt Schulz). Savak formed on the ruins of Obits (Sub Pop) and released their debut album "Best Of Luck In Future Endeavors" in 2016: the current fifth album "Human Error / Human Delight" was released last year. What to compare this band to? "It's electric guitar-oriented music, falling somewhere between the four corners of 60s garage rock, 70s punk, 80s American underground and random other things like free jazz, musique concrète, Zamrock and Chicha. If you're into The 13th Floor Elevators, The Adverts, The Dream Syndicate and Chrissy Zebby Tembo, you might dig what we do," Sohrab describes. Who the hell knows what Chrissy Zebby Tembo is? Probably no one, but otherwise Sohrab is always right.

THE LOSS OF PRAGUE

On this year's European tour, Savak will be accompanied at several concerts by the domestic Prohra Praha (ex – Gnu, Planety, Laundered Syrup), because both bands decided to release their new songs on a joint cassette split.
