Ballet of the National Theatre Belgrade
Title:
Women In D Minor / The Long Christmas Dinner
Choreography:
Radu Poklitaru
The Women in D Minor ballet is infused with admiration for Bach's genius. The tragic tale of non-existing female friendship is the pretext for the development of sophisticated multi-figural compositions and poignant duets. In the story of 16 heroines, the final part of which resembles a biblical tragedy, the women's parts are danced by men. The Long Christmas Dinner is a story depicting ninety years in the life of the Bayard family, with the years passing through a string of Christmas dinners. The dynamic and comedic choreography set to Vivaldi's Four Seasons easily wins the hearts of the audience.
