The Swedish trio has an unmistakable sound and their invasion of the global music scene was revolutionary. Top-of-the-art, modern and energetic mix combining jazz, groove, funky and electronic music dominated by the incredible range and voice color of the singer and frontman Jonah Nilsson.
We managed to persuade the band to come to the Czech Republic after 3 long years of negotiations and it is their first performance in this country!
The original initiative of the trio was definitely not a full-time band. It began with an innocent creative project for entertainment, when Jonah, Henrik and Aaron took the Lady Gaga song Just Dance and completely rewrote it to something incredible, with its own unique sound. The video became viral and scored over 2 million views without any promotion! They continued in the same vein, with covers of songs by Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Britney Spears... until they came across the Canadian producer David Foster and made their first Hit named “Hit me” and made their debut album *Loopified.* In the first 15 seconds of the title song you can hear powerful drum groove, a high-pitched vocal and a stunning, technically sophisticated bass fill.
Orthodox traditional jazz fans might frown upon Dirty Loops for their breakthrough fusion of jazz and mainstream pop music. But this Swedish bunch has successfully demonstrated that combining funky elements and R&B can produce an extreme groove that is fresh, wild, original and incredibly compelling. With a style of their own, they became pioneers in the evolution of modern music.
