Central European Jazz Showcase 2025

A showcase of contemporary young jazz from the Czech Republic and Poland will be presented at this year's Central European Jazz Showcase on June 23, 2025 at the Husa na provázku Theatre. Eight young jazz bands will perform during the evening – four from the Czech Republic and four from Poland. All were selected based on an open call, and from 75 applications, the Czech-Polish jury anonymously selected the following bands for a live performance in Brno: Akimbo (PL), Blu/Bry (PL), Deaf Platypus (CZ), Josef Hanulík (CZ), Karolina Błachnia Quartet (PL), Petr Nohavica – Glance (CZ), Point of Few (CZ), Ziółek Quartet (PL). The jury included Jakub Doležal, Nela Dusová, Ondřej Konrád, Mateusz Pałka, Rafał Sarnecki and Mateusz Smoczyński. Each band will play a twenty-minute set. In addition to the public, representatives of European jazz festivals, clubs, agencies and media will also be in the audience. At the end of the evening, one Czech and one Polish winner of the Central European Jazz Showcase will be announced.
