Její pastorkyňa (Janáčkova opera NdB & ROH Londýn) / Janáček Brno

Jenufa is one of Janáček's most famous works and marked a turning point in his work. Since its inception in 1904, it has been on the repertoire of the Brno opera ensemble almost continuously, but for the festival, a production from London's Royal Opera House Covent Garden directed by excellent Clause Guth will be extraordinarily transferred to Brno. It will be performed by the orchestra and choir of Janáček's opera NdB, leading Czech soloists and with soprano Karita Mattilá in the role of Kostelnička. Jenufa will return to the Royal Opera House in March 2020 after nearly twenty years, as part of a series of Janáček productions that began three years ago.
