Žalman has been active on the music scene since 1968, first in the group Minnesengři, later in 1982 he founded his own band Žalman & Spol., Which performs in various forms continuously until today. The last change of the line-up took place in February 2017, currently his band colleagues are singer Michaela Hálková, guitarist Petr Havrda and bassist Petr Novotný (who has been since 1994).
Pavel Lohonka is rightly one of the Czech folk legends and is one of the creators who influenced the current form of the Czech folk scene. He recorded 9 albums with the Minnesengra and later released another 19 albums and 7 selections. More than 250 songs can be found on them. He was responsible for the popularization of folk, especially South Bohemian songs, so some of them were given the opportunity to popularize for the second time. His work is characterized by diligence, determination and humility, thanks to which he has become a good example for many young folk groups. Some time ago, he was the first folk star to join the FOLK LIVES movement! He identifies with his goal - to bring the folk genre closer to people and at the same time draw attention to the young folk generation, which grew up completely out of the media's attention…
