One of the most famous sopranos in the world, Maria Callas, and her life story, became the inspiration for director Jiří Heřman. How far a person can go in sacrificing himself. Is sacrifice of love liberating? If love is the meaning of a person's life, can he live without it?

Tosca - a famous singer, but also a wife and mistress who loses everything in one night. Maria Callas - one of the most famous opera singers in the world, but also a woman and a mistress who gave up everything for the arts in order to finally give up the arts for the sake of never-fulfilled love. Two destinies that merge in one moment…

Tosca is an opera that has definitely confirmed Puccini's reputation as an unbeatable creator of impressive and effective melodies. And also the creator of a great drama. The creation of the opera was not easy, the creators doubted whether the choice of the theme with the political background of the Napoleonic Wars was happy, but the premiere at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome in January 1900 confirmed the composer's dramatic instinct. The audience, although initially shocked by the realism and brutality of some scenes, quickly adopted this opera full of wonderful and emotional music.
