We are honored to welcome to Ponava a well-known pair of well-coordinated Slovak jazzmen, founding members of the Altar Quartet - saxophonist Nikolai Nikitin and pianist Ľuboš Šrámek together with guest Serbian guitarist Alen Petráš!
Nikolai Nikitin is one of the most prominent figures in Slovak jazz. This saxophonist, composer and producer has more than ten albums to his credit, including collaborations with well-known names such as Miroslav Vitous and Tom Harrell.
He is a founding member and leader of the Altar group together with Ľuboš Šrámek.
Ľuboš Šrámek is a pianist, producer and composer. Holder of the most prestigious domestic music awards Radio_Head Awards in the category Jazz music and Jazz album. He has collaborated with musicians such as Peter Erskine, JD Walter, Johnathan Blake and others on his albums.
Alen Petráš is a young guitarist from Serbia.
He studied guitar with Branko Barnić at the conservatory in Zrenjanin and with Jozsef Zsapka in Bratislava at the Academy of Performing Arts.
He is inspired by learning about other cultures, but above all by interacting with musicians and developing musical conversation. He dedicated his first recorded work, "Fragments", to his grandfather.
