Janny Richter was born in Prague, but at heart he belongs deep into the arid prairies and unimaginable plains of the American West.
He started in the 90's as a singer in the local band The Star Rover, then left for the United States, where he clashed face to face with traditional American music, delta blues, country and folk.
After returning home, he founded the one-man band Jonny Richter and the Hog Ranch, influenced by black bluesmen, folk legend Woody Guthrie and at the same time close to the dark style of Tom Waits.
In 2016-18, he lives in Montana, where he records a record called Butte America. Janny Richter performs with his one man band on both sides of the Atlantic, both in good old Europe and in the Promised Land.
Janny released a new album called Put Some Hog On It on Polí5 last year.
