Groove Brno 2022 - D.Y.K. & Brooklyn Funk Essentials (USA)

The Sono Centra hall will be dominated by the home team D.Y.K. and the worldwide phenomenon of the fusion of genres such as soul, hip hop, jazz, spoken word and funk Brooklyn Funk Essentials.
On six records, the six overseas musicians crossed their stylistic mix with Turkish folk and Latin, for some of which she was even nominated for a Grammy award. The compositions of the energetic formation were heard across the halls of three continents, as well as in cult series such as Starsky & Hutch or The Sopranos.
By joining the B-Side Band from Brno, Vojtěch Dyk came into the limelight as a solo singer. The debut recording Live at La Fabrika earned Dyk the award Singer of the Year at the Cen Anděl 2012. This time, however, he will perform with the new project D.Y.K. He founded the latter in 2019 with keyboardist and composer Ondřej Pivec, who won the Grammy for best vocal jazz album with soul star Gregory Porter.
