Les Misérables
On February 13, 2009, one of the most famous musical titles written in the twentieth century premiered at the Music Stage of the Brno City Theatre. The story of the escaped galley slave Jean Valjean, based on Hugo's famous novel of the same name Les Misérables (1862), won the hearts of audiences not only in Brno during more than 130 reruns, and Petr Gazdík won the prestigious Thalia Award for his portrayal of the lead role. The Brno production thus only confirmed the quality of the work, which after its premiere in 1985 in London and two years later on Broadway, literally flew around the world and became one of the longest-running musicals in the West End. It should be added that the world premiere took place in Paris in 1980 and the musical's worldwide success was ensured by the production care of musical magician Cameron Mackintosh.

Jindřich Göth, music journalist, iDnes.cz "Although the songs emphasize original music, inventive arrangements and technically brilliant singing, the lyrics of a singer-songwriter worthy of that label are not crossword puzzles, but about something important." Tomáš S. Polívka, Magazín Uni.
Napoli + Budoár staré dámy
NAPOLI Seven brave suburban cowboys from Kraví hora, who love atmospheric westerns, enjoy exploring genre boundaries and do not deny their roots in the Brno alternative scene. Now they present the newly released album Tučný časy. “Pure, poetic, earthy, imaginative – that is what Tučný časy is. The atmosphere of platonic love in a sick city, where everyone carries a true cowboy well hidden inside them.” OLD LADY’S BUDOW The band was formed in Brno in 1998. They borrowed the name from their grandmother, who called her room that. The old lady became a muse for her grandchildren, who began to meet in a duo (guitar + bucket) in the basement. Because the neighbor preferred a different genre, they had to move out of the house. Since they gained more space, they also added other members. In a 3/5 women's lineup, they broke men's hearts for 10 years and toured the European world. Now they play in a 1/4 women's lineup only and they fill women's souls even better!

You may also know the talented and courageous beauty from the popular beauty contest, where she won the title of Czech Miss World 2015, or from the TV competition Your Face Has a Familiar Voice. At the concert you will hear new songs, experience an atmosphere full of energy and you will definitely all enjoy it together!
Frankie & The Deadbeats | JONÁŠ
Frankie & The Deadbeats (translated as losers, losers or lousy people) is a group of men with a dubious reputation, but as a musical group they are aiming high. A few years ago they moved from dirty clubs, where they played punk and rock’n’roll loudly and in the sweat of their faces (e.g. Hanba, Prague Conspiracy, Unholy Preachers, TiNG, Inverta Storca and others), to the music of their childhood, spent around campfires, and decided to win the hearts of Czech and foreign radio listeners and convince them that they like country, even if they never thought so before and that hats, shirts and cognacs are just cool. For Jonáš, music is a way to approach complex things in a straightforward way. Neither in the lyrics nor in the musical accompaniment is complex and they do not claim to be. It smells of the smoke of guitar campfires and the current alternative scene, inspired by 20th-century singer-songwriters led by Jonathan Richman and Vashti Bunyan.
Pepa Nos, real name Josef Nos, is a Czech singer-songwriter, author and yoga teacher. As a singer-songwriter, he performed mainly in small clubs and schools, occasionally at festivals. His songs rarely appear on the radio or television. He is the author of more than 300 songs, in most cases with his own lyrics.
Final Dose (UK) + Prayer Position (USA)
FINAL DOSE (UK) A fierce blend of the cold malevolence of black metal and the unyieldingness of raw punk. Final Dose's origins date back to the release of a demo in 2020, followed by the full-length Void Inside (2023) and two cuts on the 4-way split album Blood Price with Prayer Position (USA), Otras (SK) and Haunting Figure (USA). PRAYER POSITON (USA) Raw blackened punk from Boston, USA. Prayer Position's sound is based on primitive black metal, raw punk and sonic extremes. A cacophony of noise torn from the chain in an atmosphere of menacing chaos.
Music in the main role, that's how Dvořák's opera Jakobín could be summed up, because it is precisely it that can change the fate of all the characters in the opera. At the same time, Dvořák created a charming picture of a Czech town from the Enlightenment era populated by quirky figures of the music-loving teacher Benda, his stubborn daughter Terinka in love with the young teacher Jiřík, or the cocky burgrave Filip. Perhaps it was a fond memory of the circumstances of his own youth that brought so many charming, rich melodies, both playful and melancholic, to Dvořák's music, be it the famous scene of the school cantata, the duet "We wandered abroad" or Juliet's lullaby. What better opera to start the season falling under the Year of Czech Music with than Jakobín, which is Dvořák's tribute to Czech music and the people who love it above all else.

JFB / Esperanza Spalding
In February 2011, the music world was rocked. Something completely unexpected happened at the Grammy Awards—jazz double bassist, singer, and songwriter Esperanza Spalding won the Best New Artist category, beating out mainstream favorites like Justin Bieber, Drake, Florence & the Machine, and Mumford & Sons. The media spoke of a “shocking surprise” that secured her the status of the first jazz artist ever to win the prestigious award. This moment was not just a personal triumph—it was also the moment that, after many years (and unfortunately for the last time for a long time), put modern jazz in the pop spotlight and forced even the general public to ask the question: “What, Esperanza?”
Break the Curse | Valentine's Day at Fleda
Friday the 13th is written in the collective mind as a day of bad luck and fear. But this year we will transform it into a holiday of love. On Friday the 13th, we gather at Fléda to show*y that the only thing we refuse to fear is our own identity and love. Prejudice and oppression are the only real curses that we must break together. In the first half of the evening, we will immerse ourselves in mysticism and rituals. We will celebrate the archetype of the witch, a symbol of a person who refused to submit, lived on the margins, and who turned their otherness into strength. With the stroke of midnight, we will finish the ritual together. Fléda will be a safe haven for us all night, but as soon as midnight officially announces Valentine's Day, we will break the last remnants of superstition. The dark vibe will be replaced by pink, and we will make a dance floor out of the shards of all those old myths under our feet.
Ondřej Ruml & Matěj Benko Trio
They are all active musicians, they all move across genres. And yet they are united by one thing – a love of jazz. "We decided to try to return to where we came from, to the jazz club, and play the songs that influenced us the most on our musical journey," says Ondřej Ruml, adding that the repertoire will also include songs that were created in collaboration with Matěj Benko.

SPYDER & Frank
Ivo "Spyder" Křižan - an American musician of Czech origin, has played and collaborated with many prominent musicians such as Jeff Beck, Doug Lunn, Henri Bozzie, Mitch Mitchell and others. For many years he played in black club bands, especially in California, which were a great school of rhythm and blues for him. Spyder alternates his musical activities both abroad and on the Czech music scene, and his concert promises an extraordinary musical experience.
Devil's Wall
Bedřich Smetana originally thought of a comic opera with librettist Eliška Krásnohorská. In the end, while composing his last completed opera, the composer found moments in the romantic text, inspired by an old legend about a wall of stones built by the devil on the river by the Vyšehrod monastery, that gave the whole story a different tone. Smetana's isolation in Jabkenice and his dismal health and depression were reflected in the individual characters, and the comicalness was replaced by the depth of their feelings. The humor did not disappear either, but it is combined with the desire for love, life wisdom, melancholy and devilish temptation, so that the main tone was a celebration of love, loyalty and dedication.
