PROPADLEEK
Propadleek is a Prague band founded in 2017 by then high school students Ondřej Kobrl and Jan Vaňek. The band has gained a wide audience thanks to catchy lyrics, imaginative violin lines and rich vocal arrangements. Its style is somewhere between pop rock and pop folk. So far this year, it has released three EPs and eight singles, available on all streaming platforms. In 2024, it played 21 concerts, sold out Malostranská Beseda twice, Gauč na Výstaviště the second time, filled Rock Café and performed in nine cities across the Czech Republic. An acoustic concert in a new and unique format was also a great success. In 2025, the band toured alongside the band Divokej Bill and several festivals, which expanded its fan base. Now Propadleek is focusing on fine-tuning its debut album, which they recorded at the SONO studio. The album will be released in the fall and fans can already look forward to the February release in Fléda, Brno!
The Jackal Years
The Jackal Years is set in Prague's Dejvice in the late 1950s, living peacefully in its "small town" way in the shadow of the red star at the top of the International Hotel. One day, a young man named Bejby bursts into the world of parents living with the everyday worries of early socialism and their children, whose sense of the "outside world" is determined by the exotic contents of the hotel's trash cans. The innocent dustman causes a stir with his eccentric clothes and passion for "unknown" rock and roll rhythms; the youth are thrilled and the parents despair. Bejby's appearance, amplified in the story by the rock and roll hits of Ivan Hlas, which have now become popular (such as Jednu mi fotr požiadě, Na kolena or Rock'n'roll pro Beethovena), thus marks a key turning point in the lives of a generation of boys.
ROUGH BOYS?

Káťa Kabanová
The production by one of the world's best opera directors, Robert Carsen, had a successful premiere at the Janáček Brno Festival 2016. His productions, with their outstanding individual poetics, dramaturgical restraint and emotional, lively and extremely impressive theatre, have been in the repertoire of the most important opera houses for many years, be it La Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Glyndebourne Festival in England or the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. Káťa Kabanová is one of Carsen's five productions of Janáček's operas and was originally created for the Flemish Opera. Since its premiere, it has been performed in more than 20 opera houses around the world and it is no wonder that the production with its impressive scenography, where the water surface covers the entire stage and reflects Káťa's emotions and tragic fate, is one of Carsen's best works.

The Marriage of Figaro
After the successful production of Handel's Alcina, director Jiří Heřman and I will set out to discover the beauties of Mozart's music and his opera, which enjoys unwavering popularity all over the world. And it is no wonder, because The Marriage of Figaro, in addition to brilliant and sparkling music that will sweep you away with its unceasing flow similar to a mountain stream, also boasts an almost dramatic libretto. And how could it not, when the basis for Da Ponte was the play of the same name by the outstanding French playwright Pierre de Beaumarchais.

KAILAS A captivating and ritualistic sound world is born at the interface of foggy ambient and distorted guitar surfaces. Dark music breathing a wide space in which intimate moments meet heaviness and transforms listening into a slow, inner pilgrimage.
Nicholas Winton was a young, not even thirty-year-old successful man working in finance in 1938, living a life appropriate to his age. In December of that year, Nicholas was planning a holiday in the Swiss Alps, but his friend Martin Blake, a member of the British Committee for Refugees from Czechoslovakia, asked him to come and see Prague instead of skiing. A visit to a refugee camp where people from the occupied border area were staying literally shocked him. He realized that the refugees, mostly of Jewish origin, were in direct danger of their lives and decided to take action. Since the German authorities refused to let entire families go, he founded the children's section of the British Committee with the aim of saving at least the children. With the help of his mother and several colleagues, he collected the necessary documents from parents who were interested in sending their child to England and processed travel permits with the German occupation authorities. All this under the constant supervision of the Gestapo.
One of the most performed neo-romantic works. Tchaikovsky was inspired by the motifs of the original Scandinavian legend about a girl transformed into a swan to write lyrical and melodic music, which became a masterful example of a romantic ballet score. Swan Lake is admired by both generations of spectators and performers who are ambitiously trying to cope with the difficult task of demanding ballet technique. This title, which we present in the traditional choreographic concept of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, was rehearsed with the Brno Ballet by the prominent long-time ballet master of Milan's La Scala, Robert Strajner. He highlighted the plot line of the story and gave the work a directorial logic. By emphasizing the purity of form and style, the Brno production continues the legacy of Petipa and Ivanov, and is enriched by the person of the choreographer with Western European tradition. We presented the production in a renewed premiere in 2019 to mark the 100th anniversary of the first performance at the NdB. The new stage design is the work of English set designer Peter Horn, and the costumes were designed by designer Roman Šolc.

meta and her noises + Johanela
meta and her noises is a twenty-three-year-old singer, songwriter and lyricist who seeks space for sincerity and strong emotions in indie pop. Her music is like a soundtrack to the moment when you come home after a long day and pour yourself a glass of red wine – intimate, poetic and uncompromisingly individual. Her work is inspired by icons such as Lana Del Rey or Lilly Allen, but meta and her noises manages to transform it into its own world full of fragility and mystery. Young singer and songwriter Johanela will present songs from her recently released album Kdo jsi ty. Johanela started out on the streets of Prague as a busker and quickly worked her way up to larger stages, including the main stage of the Prague Majáles in Letňany, the Brno Music Marathon and the Prague Sounds festival. Before releasing her first album, she collaborated with composer, organist and Grammy Award winner Ondřej Pivec.

They began their journey under the guidance of teacher and accordionist Jakub Jedlinský. This musical group attracts the attention of the audience precisely thanks to its unusual composition, style of playing and its diverse repertoire. It consists of its own arrangements and original work and draws inspiration from ethnic music from different parts of the world in combination with elements of jazz and improvisation. With its spontaneous and melancholic music and young energy, Gankino Quintet is able to make its audience dance and at the same time awaken the innermost emotions in people. They perform in chamber spaces, music halls or in the open air, and have given concerts at major music festivals and projects in the Czech Republic and abroad, such as: Smetana's Litomyšl, Monastery Music Festival, MusicFest Brno, Czech Dreams and others.

Nazareth are a Scottish rock band, known for their many rock hits, as well as a great cover version of the ballad Love Hurts from the mid-1970s. They took their name from the song The Weight by The Band. In 1970, the band moved to London, where they released their first album of the same name in 1971. After gaining attention with their 1972 album Exercises, Nazareth released their next album Razamanaz in early 1973.

Now we have a unique opportunity to enjoy it on our own and find out how important a role it plays in an opera performance. What you should try to conduct it or play with it. Take a closer look at the opera! Take a Step Behind the Curtain with us. La traviata
Perhaps none of the participants in the Venetian premiere, which was a devastating fiasco, believed that they had just witnessed the birth of one of the most popular and most performed Italian operas. Verdi found a theme close to him in the novel about the love of the courtesan Violetta and Alfredo, which is not desired by his father or society. He knew the setting well – Paris, a city full of hustle and bustle, was never his favorite, and the tragic story reminded him of his own life experience. For years he had lived in a free union with the soprano Giuseppina Strepponi and felt firsthand the society's opposition to the "illegal" relationship. His personal experience undoubtedly enhanced the understanding and compassion for the main heroine, which permeate the entire opera... The clear lyrical music, where Italian bel canto is closely combined with dramatic expression, added poignancy to the tragic love story of the famous Parisian courtesan, thus giving rise to an opera evergreen.
NdB 2: Dispute / Archa / Inside
The junior company will present its second premiere in the 2025/2026 season in February under the title NdB 2: Dispute / Archa /Inside. The eighth premiere evening will present three original choreographies created specifically for NdB2. In a dramaturgically diverse triptych, three different authorial perspectives meet, which develop the interpretive abilities of young dancers and at the same time respond to the themes that accompany them on their path to adult artistic expression.
