Merry widow
The mission is clear – to marry the widow! But in such a way that her millions remain in the principality. There would be plenty of suitors, but Count Danilo, entrusted with the task, already has his own love story with the widow Hana Glawari. The affection is mutual, but so is the reluctance to admit that the old love has not rusted. When you add other ingredients in the form of a party at the embassy in Paris, dancers from the famous U Maxima cabaret and witty dialogues, you have everything you need for a great operetta.

Verdi's Aida is one of his masterpieces, which contains none of the guaranteed ingredients of a romantic Italian opera - love, jealousy, political intrigue, large choral scenes and inevitable tragic death. Of course, this also includes a great singing cast, in this case Csilla Boross, Sung Kyu Park, Luis Cansino, Aleš Jenis and others. This will also be the first time that our company will collaborate with our junior ballet company NdB2 on this production. It was Verdi who usually chose the themes to be set to music, but in this case the offer came from outside.

Deep Purple Tribute – Strange Kind Of Women (IT/FR)
A female Deep Purple tribute band will perform in Brno on January 31st. The Czech band Škaredá holka will be supporting them. Deep Purple are considered by many to be the most innovative and successful rock band of all time and at the same time an inimitable band. 7 years ago, however, this inimitability took its toll when an all-female European group emerged that emulated the magic of Deep Purple with an elemental and femininely unbridled expression. Eliana Cargnelutti, a leader and guitarist from Udine near Venice, came up with the idea of an all-female Deep Purple tribute band and had a clear idea of the musicians she needed to turn her shining vision into a musical reality. Thus was born the energetic formation Strange Kind Of Women, consisting of Eliana Corgnelutti on guitar, vocalist Alteria (Virgin Radio) from Milan, bassist Paola Zadra, Hammond organ player Margherita Gruden living in France, and drummer Chiara Cotugno.

As a result, their concerts always take on a slightly different dimension compared to their work on records.

YOUNG BLOOD or MUSIC CLOSE UP II
Chamber cycle of members of the Orchestral Academy of the Brno Philharmonic and guests The Orchestral Academy of the Brno Philharmonic is a project that allows young talented musicians – students or recent graduates of music schools accepted on the basis of a selection procedure – to gain orchestral practice in a professional ensemble. In this way, the Philharmonic educates new generations of players who may one day join its ranks. The OAFB has been operating for six seasons and its fruits are already evident: some of its graduates are already members of our orchestra, others regularly return to help out. The importance and value of this experience for the artistic growth of young musicians and for the future of the orchestra is therefore unquestionable.

MULTICREATIONS SOUNDCHAIN
Another SoundChain electroacoustic music concert Another concert evening in the SoundChain series focuses on the relationship between analog instruments and acousmatic music. The program combines live performances with analog and modular systems with acousmatic compositions that were inspired by analog technologies and their specific sound processes. An important aspect is the principle of nonlinear feedback processes, which are particularly pronounced in analog electronic instruments. Even minimal time shifts or minor changes in circuits can lead to radical transformations of sound structures and the formation of new perceptual horizons. Feedback loops here serve as tools that show how complex and dynamic musical structures can develop from tiny time deviations. The concert will be held in a top-notch multichannel performance, thus presenting an ideal opportunity to listen to electroacoustic music.

Thanks to the combination of strengths and talents of all members, the spirit and inimitable energy of the original legend are revived on European stages.
MMNK + guests: Cringe Prince, Himself, Hopsen Clark
The creative group MMNK has prepared a magnificent concert experience for you together with several dear guests. After the release of the epic album Legenda Ybokaj aneb Jakoby Napak (Official Original Soundtrack), they are expanding Ybokaj's universe with three loosely connected songs, which they will present live together with the guests at this unique concert. Don't be cringe, catch up with Fléda and don't forget to take a good mood with you. Dirty rap from Žižkov following the age-old tradition of Czech hyenism. Frantic verbal pogo on the remains of the scene, existential diarrhea, depression sweating in sequined panties that haven't been washed for three days. Party Hárd, shame harder. Cringe Prince is a Czech rapper originally from Ústí nad Labem, currently active in Prague. Under the auspices of bedroom rap, he creates his own digital artifacts, and his rap shows are often full of improvisation. Hopsen Clark is a Czech rapper who contributed to expanding Ybokaj's story with a significant joint track with MMNK.
Erika Rein (SK) | Táňa Lvovská
Erika Rein is a distinctive Slovak R&B and pop singer and songwriter who combines electronica, avant-pop, hyperpop and R&B with a deep respect for her Romani roots in her work. On her debut album Kamibe (Love), she creates a distinctive sound world in which modern club aesthetics meet traditional Romani music. She sings in three languages – English, Slovak and Romani – and thus addresses audiences across cultures and borders. Tána Lvovská is a Prague musician who moves on the border of alternative pop and intimate electronics. She gained experience in the supporting bands of Yasha 96 and singer Fourtuna before fully embarking on her own solo project in 2023. On it, she collaborates with producer David Machovský (duo Blue Uandi).
Amelie Siba + Eternity Again
What started as solo experiments in the bedroom has grown into a full-fledged band project. The debut album by the group Eternity Again, consisting of singer and songwriter Barbora Cihak, Erik Petrina, Vojtěch Kouřil and Miki Papež, is a mosaic of unusual sonic ideas and at the same time a soundtrack to the everyday lives of the individual band members. The shoegaze fog is permeated by echoes of IDM, trip hop and noise rock, over which ethereal vocals reminiscent of Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine and Ecstasy of St. Theresa tower. The musician and composer, winner of the Anděl and Apollo awards, released her fourth solo album This May Be The Only Way 2 Heaven in March 2025. The raw album uses metal samples and focuses not only on topics such as mental health, but also tries to bring a sense of hope and belonging. With her previous album Gently Double A, she moved into a more aggressive and assertive sphere with a dirtier sound, but intimacy and vulnerability still remain an important element of her work.
Devil's Wall
Bedřich Smetana originally thought of a comic opera with librettist Eliška Krásnohorská. In the end, while composing his last completed opera, the composer found moments in the romantic text, inspired by an old legend about a wall of stones built by the devil on the river by the Vyšehrod monastery, that gave the whole story a different tone. Smetana's isolation in Jabkenice and his dismal health and depression were reflected in the individual characters, and the comicalness was replaced by the depth of their feelings. The humor did not disappear either, but it is combined with the desire for love, life wisdom, melancholy and devilish temptation, so that the main tone was a celebration of love, loyalty and dedication.

Fine (DNK) at Spektrum Gallery
The capital of Denmark has had its own specific sound in (alternative) pop in recent years – graduates of the local music academy include Erika de Casier, Astrid Sonne and ML Buch, as well as Fine Glindvad Jensen. In the past, she worked as a composer and performer in the band Chinah, but in 2023 she embarked on a solo career, which she confirmed a year later with her debut album Rocky Top Ballads. Love songs that revive emotions in enigmatic fragments and small situations, and stories from various distant pasts capture an elusive longing for something that is long gone. Live, Fine transforms her hypnotic sound together with band members: Lola Hammerich on guitar (Baby in Vain), Andreas Murga on bass (Gorgeous) and Mads Muurholm on drums. Tickets are available on the Heartnoize website, and for the Brno concert on the Smsticket platform.
JFB / BEATrio: Béla Fleck, Edmar Castañeda, Antonio Sánchez
The trio project, which calls itself BEATrio, is an event in modern instrumental music that immediately arouses curiosity. Moreover, this unusual combination of instruments brings together true masters – banjoist Béla Fleck, harpist Edmar Castañeda and drummer Antonio Sánchez. The latter himself once said that BEATrio represents “one of the most unlikely trio configurations anyone has ever seen.” Béla Fleck commented on this account that the curiosity and amazement of the audience reminds him of the early days of his pioneering band the Flecktones, when people also asked: “How the hell is this supposed to work?”
