DOKORÁN Festival – a musical based on the famous film comedy. New York actor Michael Dorsey is advocating for auditions and trying to break through, but he always ends up arguing with the director. Until he gets the desperate idea of attending the audition disguised as a woman.
The personality and work of Franz Kafka have inspired and provoked the expression of creators of many artistic genres, literary scholars and experts, as well as the general reading public, not only in the period of increased interest around the centenary of the writer's death. His work has gained immense popularity and recognition, and his stories, full of absurdity and existential questions, have influenced modern literature and film. Kafka is today considered one of the most important writers of the 20th century, and his work and life remain a source of inspiration and exploration for generations of readers, literary critics and artists across genres.
Concentus Moraviae: Epoque Quartet
Over the quarter century of its existence, the Epoque Quartet has established itself as a prominent representative of a wide-ranging genre spectrum, the only limit of which is that it must sound good when performed by a string quartet. In addition to canonical classical music compositions, the gentlemen regularly play compositions from the alternative rock, jazz, film music and minimalism categories. A successful novelty is the inclination towards Czech and Moravian folk music, which was adapted for the Epoque Quartet into the LIDOVQUE suite by the arranging wizard and violist of the quartet Alexej Aslamas, and which was released last year in an exclusive LP edition.
Concentus Moraviae: Jazz trio KBŠ & Ivan Vokáč
When the excellent cellist Ivan Vokáč is not playing in the Philharmonic, he likes to jam in a jazz club or play tango on the piano. It is this musical openness that brought him together with the excellent musicians from the KBŠ Trio. They have prepared a unique program especially for the concert in Hustopeče: we can expect a stylish interweaving of Claude Bolling, Gershwin's classic concert miniature with a jazz flavor, and even a world premiere, which was composed by Pavel Klimashevsky for his musical friends.
Štěpán Škoch and Kate Hamsíková SAXOPHONE
SAXOPHONE is a musical-visual concert project by Štěpán Škoch and Kate Hamsíková from All Senses Production. The project consists of improvisations on wind and electronic instruments using a looper and samplers, with a unique light design. Its style ranges between electronic, dance, jazz and ambient music.
Prison bells
One hundred and thirty years since the death of Christian Friedrich d’Elvert. In the words of the organizer: “A descendant of French emigrants, who was a member of the Provincial Assembly and the mayor of Brno. Špilberk, which d’Elvert had reforested, was the cruelest prison and an impregnable fortress – now it stands in an abandoned park - French, Italians, Swedes, Austrians, Germans, Czechs and Moravians…. and Špilberk in addition.” “Two hundred and ninety years ago, rich people in a rich city cast the largest bell in the world. They spent two whole years decorating it to make it beautiful and majestic. However, the wooden structure in which the bell was installed suddenly caught fire. Useless and therefore criminal people were sent to put out the fire. They formed an endless chain and poured bucket after bucket from the mighty river. The fire subsided and the bell cracked. For a hundred years it lay in a hole with the corpses of those punished by the fire and therefore the bell destroyers. Then the rich finally came to their senses and donated the cracked bell to the needy so that they would have somewhere to live and something to eat. Since then, carillons have been built near prisons.” Program: Dmitri Kourliandski – Lacrimosa (Anatomy Of Pain) Iannis Xenakis – A l`ile de Goree Eliška Cílková – commission for glockenspiel and BCO Alfred Schnittke – The End of St. Petersburg Brno Contemporary Orchestra, conducted by Pavel Šnajdr
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR
DOKORÁN Festival – rock opera. The famous author duo Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, in their timeless adaptation, look through the eyes of Judas Iscariot at a story that fundamentally influenced two thousand years of the history of Western civilization.
Johann Strauss Jr. is celebrating the 200th anniversary of his birth, so we decided to give him and you a gift in the form of a new production of his famous operetta The Bat. Since its premiere, the humorous story of mistaken identity and the fact that even innocent flirting may not pay off has been a success on leading stages, not just operettas. The Bat has long since become part of the repertoire of theaters such as the Metropolitan Opera and the Vienna State Opera. Today, no one suspects that it all began with the unsuccessful acquisition of the French play Réveillon by Messrs. Meilhac and Halévy. After reading it, the director of Theater und der Wien Max Stein decided not to stage it as a drama, but rather to have it reworked into an operetta libretto, which he would offer to Johann Strauss. He was delighted with Richard Genée's version and had the composition ready within four months. In a short time, a comedy filled with Strauss' sparkling melodies was created, and thus The Bat was born - today rightly considered a jewel of classic Viennese operetta.

P.O.D. (US) / AFTERPARTY Rock for People 2026
P.O.D. didn't come about overnight and had to work hard to achieve their success in the spotlight of contemporary heavy music. After countless basement gigs and a world tour in a van, they finally signed with Atlantic Records, where they released the album The Fundamental Elements of Southtown in 1999. But the hard work for the band had only just begun.
DARKSIDE FANATIC is Redzed's ninth studio album, combining hard rap with guitar riffs. The sound defines Redzed's work with punchy beats with dark choruses and pushes the boundaries of underground rap. Lyrically, the album focuses on spiritualism, the supernatural and the darkness of the human soul. The cover was photographed at the pilgrimage site of the Mountain of Crosses in Lithuania. We will be christening the album again after two years at the Špilberk Open Air Cinema, where we christened it for the last time.
Hurvínek sells the bride
Daddy, how is a bride sold? How did you come to know that someone would sell a bride, Hurvínek? Well, I read here: The National Theatre in Brno is performing Bedřich Smetana's opera The Bartered Bride. So how is it, Daddy? Well, you know, it's just like... how should I put it to you... it's a trick to buy a bride for yourself. So now I'm a fool - is it being sold or bought? You know what, Hurvajz, take Žeryk and Mánička and we'll go to the opera, it'll be easier than explaining it to you!

Concentus Moraviae: Concert of participants of master classes for string quartets
The concert of four young excellent quartets will be the culmination of master classes that will take place from 16 to 18 June in Kroměříž and will be led by respected chamber music teachers – Peter Jarůšek, Pavel Nikl and Simone Gramaglia. The master class project and the concert of their graduates is an ideal fulfillment of the memorandum of cooperation that the Concentus Moraviae festival signed with the Stauffer Foundation. The foundation, based in Cremona, Italy, at its renowned academy – the Accademia Stauffer – provides education in string instruments and is committed to preserving and developing the unique violin-making tradition that has made Cremona famous all over the world. The Arola Quartet and the Quartetto di Genova are coming to Kroměříž from the Accademia Stauffer, and our festival has selected the Kubit Quartet and the Suk Quartet for this unique program.
Concentus Moraviae: Quatuor Diotima
A literal soirée à la française awaits us at Boskovice Castle! Quatuor Diotima, an ensemble highly regarded for its ability to connect the French quartet tradition with the subtlest shades of contemporary chamber music, will offer a dramaturgically thoughtful arc of a trio of compositions by its compatriots: the fragmentary structure of excerpts from Pierre Boulez's Book for Quartet is followed by the sound poetry of Bitume by contemporary composer Gérard Pesson, who lets the quartet's sound slowly imprint and disappear like an image on the photosensitive bitumen (asphalt) of time. The program then crowns Debussy's String Quartet in G minor with its infinite shades of quartet colors.
Hypnotic Floor (AT) | Rocky and His Bootlegs
Founded in 2018 in Vienna, the band Hypnotic Floor mixes progressive rock, folk and psychedelia into a hypnotic sound trip. After a three-year break, they return to the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where they last toured with Madhouse Express. As part of the INTO THE SPIRAL mini-tour, they will play in Brno, Prague and Pilsen.
Rocky and His Bootlegs – A cheeky trio of garage monkeys addicted to testosterone sniffing à la Ty Segall or John Dwyer. Their distinctive bangers cut the eardrums, caress the soul and reliably raise serotonin levels.
Dosser (USA) + Kagran (SK)
Over the past decade, it's become almost fashionable for bands to reference 1990s alternative rock. But many of them only capture the superficial, aesthetic elements and miss the essentials that truly defined the underground scene of the time. A chorus pedal, a Big Muff, and a flannel shirt aren't enough on their own. To put it bluntly, a lot of bands just don't "get it." Baltimore band Dosser certainly do.
Janek Ledecký at Špilberk

Concentus Moraviae: Schumann Quartett
Who could be a better guide to the chamber works of Robert Schumann than the Schumann Quartet, three of whose members are also his namesakes? The four young virtuosos will immerse us in Schumann's romantic depths and offer their modern reflection: the recently deceased Berlin composer Aribert Reimann was a direct descendant of the doctor who treated Schumann at the end of his life, and the Adagio in Memory of Robert Schumann is the result of his intense and very personal collaboration with the Schumann Quartet.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
A ballet star in Brno's fairy tale heaven. For almost half a century, when this magical ballet fairy tale has not left the stage of the Janáček Theatre, it has appealed to generations of the youngest spectators and their parents. Several generations of dancers have also taken turns in the main roles, for whom the loud ovations and cheerful screams of children after each performance were a joyful reward. Since 2017, we have been performing Snow White in a new stage and costume design and accompanied by an orchestra.

Jerónimo Maya Trio (ESP) "Gitano Errante"
At the 23rd Ibérica Festival, we can look forward to a grand premiere: in June, flamenco guitar virtuoso Jerónimo Maya will perform for the first time in the Czech Republic. Jerónimo Maya is not just a name – he is a phenomenon, a natural phenomenon comparable to the northern lights or a precious gemstone.
The title of the performance Gitano Errante can be translated as Wandering Gypsy. Jerónimo is a proud member of his ethnic group, the Spanish gitanos, and at the same time an eternal wanderer and seeker on the journeys of music. A direct descendant of the legendary forefather of flamenco guitar Ramón Montoya, he was literally born with a guitar in his cradle. At the age of twelve, he performed alongside Paco de Lucía at New York's Carnegie Hall. The child prodigy has grown into a guitar virtuoso who defies conventional classification – a brilliant composer and courageous experimenter, yet deeply rooted in the flamenco tradition. He will be accompanied by dancer Daniel Caballero and percussionist Antonio Losada.

An intimate evening in a theatrical setting will offer his most famous songs in their purest form – with only acoustic guitar, piano and characteristic voice. A minimalist show without a big band and big production will allow the songs themselves and the stories behind them to fully stand out. The result is a unique musical evening with one of the most iconic artists of the rock scene.
Concentus Moraviae: Calidore Quartet
If you have ever felt like you were in a historical blockbuster during a concert in the breathtaking Hall of the Ancestral Hall of Milotice Castle, the American quartet Calidore will enhance that feeling even more: the renowned ensemble is renowned for its stylistic versatility, and its festival program called Sounds of America naturally includes a trip to Hollywood! It will take the listeners from the lyrical modernism of Samuel Barber, through the film-inspired romanticism of Erich Wolfgang Korngold and the sensitive minimalism of John Williams, to the music of contemporary trumpet wizard Wynton Marsalis, who looked back on his childhood in New Orleans, the cradle of jazz, when composing his quartet.

The musical was based on the legendary film Some Like It Hot with Marilyn Monroe. It is unbelievable, but the aforementioned film was first screened almost sixty years ago, in 1959. The musical of the same name then achieved extraordinary success worldwide, and in December 2008 it was brought to the stage of the Municipal Theatre in Ljubljana, Slovenia, by director Stanislav Moša. Concentus Moraviae: Modigliani Quartet
Chamber ensembles are usually named after their primary conductor or favorite composer; however, the famous Modigliani Quartet chose a bohemian painter as their patron: "We like his perception of art, he was his own and did not deal with trends. When you see a Modigliani, you remember him for the rest of your life. We try to make our sound as easily recognizable as Modigliani's painting," say the virtuoso French artists. And they successfully achieve their goal, which they demonstrate to our audience with a unique performance of a pair of quartets belonging to the basic pillars of the chamber canon.
