Mr. Irish Bastard is a band that perfectly combines the wild energy of punk with the melodic and storytelling traditions of Irish folk music. The group was formed by Irishman Chris Lennon in Münster, Germany, after a night of musical excitement with Gran E. Smith. The acoustic guitar and banjo duo quickly recruited other musicians and began conquering Irish pubs all over Europe. They drew inspiration from legendary bands such as The Pogues, The Levellers and Flogging Molly. Their style is characterized by fast, energetic punk songs enriched with traditional Irish acoustic elements.

The legendary British punk band Buzzcocks is celebrating 50 years on the scene and will be coming to Brno's Fléda club on February 27, 2026. The band, which has been shaping the form of punk since the 1970s and has inspired countless followers, will bring a mix of their greatest hits and the energy that keeps them one of the liveliest icons of the genre. Nicholas Winton was a young, not even thirty-year-old successful man working in finance in 1938, living a life appropriate to his age. In December of that year, Nicholas was planning a holiday in the Swiss Alps, but his friend Martin Blake, a member of the British Committee for Refugees from Czechoslovakia, asked him to come and see Prague instead of skiing. A visit to a refugee camp where people from the occupied border area were staying literally shocked him. He realized that the refugees, mostly of Jewish origin, were in direct danger of their lives and decided to take action. Since the German authorities refused to let entire families go, he founded the children's section of the British Committee with the aim of saving at least the children. With the help of his mother and several colleagues, he collected the necessary documents from parents who were interested in sending their child to England and processed travel permits with the German occupation authorities. All this under the constant supervision of the Gestapo.

Doctor Victor is a rock power trio led by frontman and multi-instrumentalist Vojtěch Bureš, who recorded a completely new album at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. The band has supported AC/DC, Deep Purple and Jack White, performed in the UK, the USA (Whisky a Go Go, The NAMM Show) and Asia and collaborated with musicians from Prince to Michael Jackson. It is known for its energetic show, world-class sound and victory in the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Contest in New York. Frontman Vojtěch Bureš is also a member of the band Wanastowi Vjecy. In addition to concert activities, Doctor Victor is also known for his educational projects, MusicBus and Doctor Victor Music Academy, which bring music and inspiration directly to schools throughout the Czech Republic and support young talents and the local music community. The production by one of the world's best opera directors, Robert Carsen, had a successful premiere at the Janáček Brno Festival 2016. His productions, with their outstanding individual poetics, dramaturgical restraint and emotional, lively and extremely impressive theatre, have been in the repertoire of the most important opera houses for many years, be it La Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Glyndebourne Festival in England or the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. Káťa Kabanová is one of Carsen's five productions of Janáček's operas and was originally created for the Flemish Opera. Since its premiere, it has been performed in more than 20 opera houses around the world and it is no wonder that the production with its impressive scenography, where the water surface covers the entire stage and reflects Káťa's emotions and tragic fate, is one of Carsen's best works.

The project's leader, pianist Jon Cowherd, graduated from the renowned Loyola University New Orleans, where he was taught by none other than Ellis Marsalis, the founding father of one of the most influential jazz families. It was at Loyola that Cowherd met drummer Brian Blade and together they formed The Fellowship Band — a band that continues to this day, has released a number of excellent albums and won numerous awards.

UniBand Contest gives student bands a unique opportunity to showcase themselves to a wider audience, gain valuable experience, and advance in the music scene. The competition also helps student organizations develop skills in event organization and marketing. Winning bands can secure appearances at major festivals and take the next step towards fulfilling their musical dreams.

The charismatic singer, accordionist and author is going on tour with her band, during which she will present the album Láska hlína rýč and many other purely original songs to the audience. This time too, the singer's authentic stories will not be missing during their concerts, which she tells with her raw humor and bewitching charm, thus bringing the audience closer to what is behind the creation of the songs. Rozália's second album Láska, hlína, rýč (2024) earned her several nominations for the prestigious Anděl awards, including performer of the year. The pianist "Romantic Prince" returns to Prague and Brno to bring the most beautiful and beloved pieces of his repertoire, accompanied by a 12-member string orchestra, in the 90-minute concert program "From Paris with Love". You can look forward to classics, as well as world hits of the popular scene, and of course his most famous piece, Ballad for Adeline, cannot be missed.

The cult Narajama with a changed lineup and a new project MoneyToo creates a sound that has roots in our country, but is not afraid to grow sideways and can unexpectedly surprise by combining electric and acoustic instruments.

New friends At the center of the second band, Kumpány, is an African rhythm that you listen to with your body, not just your ears. Djembe, bass drums and rock bass create a pulse to which the saxophone responds like a jazz voice.

The Šumperk band Byt číslo 4 released their debut album Čtyři stěny in May 2024, summarizing their work from the first two years of their career. Bedřich Smetana originally thought of a comic opera with librettist Eliška Krásnohorská. In the end, while composing his last completed opera, the composer found moments in the romantic text, inspired by an old legend about a wall of stones built by the devil on the river by the Vyšehrod monastery, that gave the whole story a different tone. Smetana's isolation in Jabkenice and his dismal health and depression were reflected in the individual characters, and the comicalness was replaced by the depth of their feelings. The humor did not disappear either, but it is combined with the desire for love, life wisdom, melancholy and devilish temptation, so that the main tone was a celebration of love, loyalty and dedication.

o100opice folk rock project by TEN STICKS from Brno, who will present their new album Tečky. The Shookies - a Brno band that is inspired primarily by the songwriting tradition of foreign folk-rock and acoustic-rock.

Three veterans of the global death metal scene are embarking on a joint tour - Kataklysm, Vader and Blood Red Throne. Each of these bands represents a different take on the extreme genre - the joint performance promises an evening that will test the endurance of every death metal fan - without compromise, without respite and in the spirit of pure devastation.

Maria Somerville draws on Irish ballads, post-punk, dream-pop and drone in her work. Her debut All My People built ethereal soundscapes that mirrored the real ones in Ireland. Ghostly vocals and exposed percussion returned on her second record Luster – subtle melodies, carefully constructed worlds and introspective lyrics were included in the Best New Music category by Pitchfork magazine.
