The Witches of Eastwick
The return of a beloved magical musical comedy
Early October 2024 marked the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Musical Theatre stage. In hindsight, the opinions of the many naysayers who claimed in 2004 that the Brno City Theatre would be left with a useless, unused building after just a few seasons now seem like nothing more than amusing memories.

Love Potion
Falling in love without losing one’s head—that is the art of relationships.
Do you need to win love, or perhaps forget it altogether? Dr. Dulcamara’s elixir can do just that! A single bottle is all it takes! Love potions have long been among the most sought-after magical remedies for young men and women alike—recipes for them can still be found online today. It is no wonder, then, that they frequently feature in legends—ranging from ancient tragedies like the tale of Tristan and Isolde to stories with happy endings that have inspired operas.
Donizetti was one of a famous trio of composers whose works dominated Italian stages in the first half of the 19th century and gradually spread across Europe and overseas. Although the plot of his *L’elisir d’amore* (The Elixir of Love)—which premiered in Milan in 1832—was not entirely original (librettist Romani openly borrowed the storyline from an opera by D. Auber), Donizetti’s music ensured that—unlike its French counterpart—it has remained one of the most popular operas from its premiere to the present day. The bittersweet story of the shy Nemorino, who falls for the wealthy Adina and attempts to win her affection with the help of a "love potion," offers a wonderful showcase for the singers; the composer penned a series of beautiful duets and arias for the roles, including Nemorino’s most famous piece, "Una furtiva lacrima."
Samson and His Gang
Jiří Konvrzek
Jiří Konvrzek is a self-taught musician whose journey began in 1977 with the flute—minus sheet music, a musical ear, or a sense of rhythm, but with plenty of dedication. A few years later, the guitar entered the mix, along with his first songs, which soon began to echo through pubs and rowdy gatherings. Today, he is a seasoned performer with decades of experience under his belt. His songs blend alternative, folk, and a hodgepodge of other styles—much like the collection of instruments he has amassed over the years. You can catch him at the *U Kouřícího králíka* Jazz Bar in his most authentic form: delivering original lyrics and a distinctive performance style, backed by decades of live music experience.
Pony Pracht (DE) | Kutya
Pony Pracht is the fascinating solo project of Leipzig-based singer and multimedia artist Lisa Zwinzscher. Straddling the line between avant-pop and dreamtronica, she blends the fresh atmosphere of the 1920s with cloud-pop aesthetics and the sensibilities of the post-trip-hop generation. Kutya is the solo musical project of Markéta Lisá, in which she combines field recordings and experimental music with traditional song structures and pop elements. Her work draws upon the "folk music of her youth" while simultaneously embracing the reassuring, joyful rhythm of techno.
Band Of Phantoms (DE) + Science Killer + Gerda Blank
Band of Phantoms is an alternative rock band from Dresden, Germany. Infectious melodies and a driving bass-and-drum foundation are complemented by a massive wall of guitar sound. Science Killer is a guitar-driven band from Brno that blends influences from psychedelia, shoegaze, noise rock, and blues. Gerda Blank—originally a noise-rock duo from New Zealand—has gained acclaim across Europe; frontman Rhys Braddock, now a Brno local, has also made a name for himself among Czech audiences with his other band, Metronome Blues.

Nukleární JÁTRO
JÁTRO traces its roots back to the North Bohemian town of Chomutov in the 1980s. While identifying with punk, the band’s current sound is best described as a multi-genre rock crossover infused with a punk attitude, drawing on everything from Romani melodies to metal. The band was active during the communist era but was incompatible with the regime of the time. After the political changes, the group revived to record the album *Játrová paštika* (Liver Pâté) before going dormant again due to life circumstances. They returned to live performing around the time the COVID pandemic was easing. A "nuclear" concert in Brno, held as part of the Nuclear Medicine Days congress. Music heals. Punk-rock liberates. Everyone is welcome.

Wille & The Bandits [UK]
This British quartet—renowned as one of today’s most dynamic blues-rock acts and a live-performance powerhouse—is frequently compared to Led Zeppelin, though they also draw comparisons to the likes of Brave Rival and The Cinelli Brothers. Originally from Cornwall and now based in London, the band has performed at Glastonbury and toured extensively across the US and Australia; their fan base includes artists such as Joe Bonamassa, Ian Paice (Deep Purple), and Francis Rossi (Status Quo). At its core, Wille and the Bandits is a classic blues-rock outfit very much in the vein of Cream or The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and—like those bands—they strive to push the boundaries of the genre.

An adventurous family musical – world premiere
Long ago, from the land of ice and fire—the land of Norse gods and sagas, of fjords and mythical dragons—rose the Viking realm. Closer to the Grave Party
Tereza Beránková's birthday concerts at Melodka.
Performing: Liquid Jesus, Worn Out Jacket, DieselNuns
The autumn ballet premiere will mark the symbolic culmination of an era, serving as the final full-length original work by Artistic Director Mário Radačovský during his tenure in Brno.
The upcoming production, titled *The Mask*, represents a striking departure from the grand, epic narratives and biographical stories that have characterized his work to date (such as *Beethoven*, *Coco Chanel*, and *Warhol*). This time, the creator consciously eschews linear storytelling and specific historical facts. The focus will not be on biographical details, but rather on a compelling dialogue between music and the essence of humanity.

The project blends post-punk energy, the rawness of trap, and the emotion of alternative emo, creating a distinctive sound that straddles multiple genres. Marek thrives on contrasts—melancholy gives way to aggressive energy, dark atmospheres are complemented by bold beats, and intimate lyrics meet an experimental approach to production. He is bringing his new album to Artbar. Astris Lapsus is an emo and post-punk band formed in 2023 in Bratislava, Slovakia. Known for an emotive, melancholic, and energetic underground sound, the group is active in the local DIY and alternative music scene.

Birds In Row (FR)
The French trio Birds In Row blurs the lines between raw screamo-punk and atmospheric post-hardcore. There is no calculation here—only pure emotional catharsis built on abrasive guitars and neurotic vocals. At Brno’s Kabinet MÚZ, they will showcase their latest album, *Gris Klein*. An intense club experience is guaranteed for fans of bands like Touché Amoré or Converge.
Hailing from Laval, France, the band has risen to the very top of the European independent guitar music scene since its formation in 2009. For years, they were associated with the iconic label Deathwish Inc., releasing genre-defining milestones such as *You, Me & The Violence* and *We Already Lost the World* under its banner. Birds In Row have built a reputation as a band that rejects genre clichés; while their sound is firmly rooted in the legacy of acts like Fugazi or Modern Life Is War, it also possesses a modern post-metal drive and a sense of heavy melancholy.
Friday Night Fever
Friday Night Fever is a Friday party at Metro Music Bar. DJ Cuba6 will be playing.
MATE RADI HADI
There were five of them, then one more. The snakes slither gracefully through Brno’s clubs to the thumping kick drum, the scream of sharp guitars, and the moaning of honey-sweet synths. An effort to sound sophisticated—even mature—clashing with the reckless swagger of young bucks, leaves them grappling with the dilemma of defining their own existence on Earth. But that’s not really the point at all. The main thing is that your mom digs it.
The Pau + Ministerstvo Obřany + Mifune
The Pau is a project by Polish musician Paulina, who does things her own way and without compromise. She records all the instruments and programs the beats for her albums herself, while performing solo on stage with just a guitar. Ministerstvo Obřany – alternative rap from Brno. Poet Ondřej Hrabal, guitarist Zdeněk Butula, and beat-maker Jan Kuchár have combined their strengths—and weaknesses—to restore the faded glory of the Brno district of Obřany.
ANDROMEDIK (LIR)
Brno, get ready for a massive blast! Club Fléda is set for a night to remember. However, this is not just another botched imitation of the sort we have seen far too many of lately. As the name suggests, the musicians from Olomouc set out to create a project that would remind enthusiasts, fans, and admirers of classic AC/DC of the band's iconic and unforgettable singer, Bon Scott, and bring his legacy back to life.
Akupunktura – acoustic punk on tour! It pricks, it stabs, it brings relief! The greatest punk hits you know, with lyrics you don't!
The Atavists | Beach Bum
The Atavists are a Czech rock band influenced by surf and stoner rock. Formed in late 2014, they quickly carved out a niche in the Czech music scene, thanks largely to their energetic live performances.
At the heart of The Atavists' distinctive sound is frontman, guitarist, and main songwriter Adam Krofian, with his deep baritone vocals and crushing guitar riffs. He is backed by the screaming tones of electric organ and synthesizer and a hard-hitting rhythm section.
Beach Bum
A 90s-influenced alternative rock and punk band featuring female vocals. They have been constantly on tour since forming in 2020. Hailing from the Brno-based Kabinet Records label, the band has released an EP and two albums—*T-Rex Goes On Holiday* and *Utopia* (the latter released on blue vinyl).
They have racked up thousands of kilometers on the road, played countless shows in the Czech Republic and abroad, and supported acts like Buzzcocks and DZ Deathrays! This year, they even played in Iceland, becoming only the third Czech band ever to perform there.
