That the music is simply great… Refreshing. Revealing. Liberating.
Mythos: Ragnarök
Norse mythology comes to life! The legendary British stage production *Mythos: Ragnarök* is bringing its unique show to the Czech Republic.
*Mythos: Ragnarök* is a global phenomenon. In the four years since its debut at the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival, it has become one of the festival's best-selling shows and is now touring the world with its energetic adaptation of Norse mythology. *The Daily Mail* calls it a "phenomenon," *The Telegraph* urges people to "fight for tickets," and countless publications and audience members alike are thrilled by the creation of something truly unique in the world of theater. This groundbreaking production seamlessly blends the comedy and gravitas of Shakespearean drama with the visceral excitement of live combat, thanks to a cast of actors trained in professional wrestling! The result is a witty and engaging retelling of ancient Norse myths and legends, following the relationships and struggles of iconic figures like Thor, Loki, and Freyja as they attempt to build a new world and avert the prophesied apocalyptic battle of Ragnarök. With a stunning array of handcrafted costumes, a cleverly adapted script, hard-rock music, and front-row seats just meters from the action, it is easy to see why the show has earned standing ovations and rave reviews worldwide from fans of theater, mythology, and wrestling alike. *Mythos: Ragnarök* was created in 2021 by English writer and wrestler Ed Gamester and designer Melanie Watson.
Midnight Swimmers (album launch) + Heima (PL)
Midnight Swimmers, a band formed in London and now based in Prague, made a name for themselves on the Czech indie scene with their debut EP, *Oceans & Seas*. This was followed by a performance at Rock for People 2025 and a spot in the finals of Radio Wave’s "Startér" talent competition. In the spring of 2026, they released their first full-length album, *Odd Ones Out*.
Their music is characterized by indie-rock grooves, melancholic ambient soundscapes, and intimate vocal melodies, combining to create a sound that oscillates between guitar-driven energy and dreamy introspection.
Heima is a band from Łódź, Poland, formed in 2017; they quickly garnered attention for their mature yet bittersweet worldview. Their sound blends guitar-oriented indie rock with thoughtful, socially conscious Polish lyrics penned by frontwoman Olga Stolarek.
From the House of the Dead / Glagolitic Mass
A unifying thread runs through all of Leoš Janáček’s compositions: profound humanity and original form. This applies perhaps most strongly to his final two major works—the opera *From the House of the Dead* and the *Glagolitic Mass*. The former offers a concise glimpse into the souls of prisoners, while the latter provides a distinctive expression of faith set to an Old Church Slavonic text. The Janáček Brno 2022 festival saw a unique pairing of these two works; presenting the *Glagolitic Mass* in a staged format as a continuation of *From the House of the Dead* imbues both pieces with a new message regarding faith in humanity.
The prisoners live in the brutal conditions of a Siberian penal colony; behind every name lies a harrowing human destiny—misfortune and wickedness, yet also a spark of hope. Bit by bit, in brief vignettes, Leoš Janáček tells their stories in this singular final work. A creative genius and master of concision, Janáček manages to capture the essence of humanity within a compact scope. Despite the grim conclusion, the score of *From the House of the Dead* begins with the inscription: "In every creature, a spark of God!" This idea links his final opera to another equally unique work, the *Glagolitic Mass*. As Janáček himself put it: "Here, I wished to capture faith in the nation’s certainty—not on a religious foundation, but on a strong moral one that calls upon God as a witness."

LEITNERKA 70: Tajíledy
KLUB LEITNEROVA is celebrating 70 years of operation! As part of the birthday festivities, we cordially invite fans to a concert by the indie-folk band Tajíledy.
Since 2025, the band Tajíledy has been bringing a delicate, understated poetic quality to the Moravian music scene—a style reflecting the long-standing creative work of Jakub Navrátil, known for projects such as Láska and Listolet. Together with bassist David Škoda and drummer Jan Janečka, they form a trio grounded in mature, original songwriting. They are joined in concert by guitarist Radek Pelikán.
In 2026, the band released the album *Před sklizní* (Before the Harvest). Its nine songs tell a story of quiet secrets and the inner fire that keeps us alive—of the fact that there is always something to keep hidden and always something worth melting for. The music journeys from cool, melancholic moods and secret nooks to warm reconciliation; from a childhood hideout in a cornfield to the lived-in home of adulthood; and from gentle folk and driving rhythms to lighthearted electro-beats. Woven throughout the album is the joy of ice melting between loved ones, contrasted with the sadness of actual ice melting away.
Tata Bojs (opening concert of the RECONNECT festival)
Tata Bojs is a Prague-based pop-rock band formed in 1988. Its founding members are Milan Cais (drums) and Marek Huňát (aka Mardoša; bass), while other permanent members include Vladimír Bár, Dušan Neuwerth, and Jiří Hradil.
The idea to form the band came to two classmates—Milan Cais (drums) and Marek Huňát (aka Mardoša; bass)—while they were still attending elementary school in Prague’s Hanspaulka district. They recruited guitarist Marek Padevět, who played guitar and sang, and later also played the clarinet. The newly formed Tata Bojs played their first concert on June 29, 1988, in the TJ Spartak Dejvice gymnasium. This marked the beginning of the group's career performing in music clubs across Prague and beyond.
Since their school days, Tata Bojs have released over ten albums, including the successful *Biorytmy*, *Ležatá osmička*, *Jedna nula*, and *Nanoalbum*, the latter of which won four "Golden Angel" awards in 2004.

Devon Rexi + Bugiebby + Cera + HNAT
Three platforms, four projects, and one evening at Fraktal. RECONNECT Festival, the favu label, and Heartnoize are joining forces to bring a lineup featuring Devon Rexi, Bugiebby, Cera, and HNAT to Brno on October 1st. Cera weaves field recordings, synthesizers, and her own voice into soundscapes where ambient blends with noise, and sensitivity meets both melancholy and playfulness. Bugiebby presents DelaXX—a strangely unsettling, chaotic, and melancholic yet sexy mix of new material straddling the lines between high-energy club music, ambient, pop, deconstructed club, trap, and experimental electronica. Devon Rexi operate within a realm defined by a motorik Krautrock mentality, a dub-infused physicality, and an unclassifiable spirit of experimentation. HNAT, a key figure in the Brno underground scene, will close out the lineup with a set driven by hard-hitting percussive beats, energy, atmosphere, and flow.

Sound Installation hear:here
FILIP DOBROCKÝ’s hear:here is a sonic walk in Špilberk Park. The installation draws on the traditions of sound walks and GPS-based sound art but blurs the boundary between creator and audience. There is no single composer; the work serves as a platform for a collective soundscape—a participatory layer of urban sound design open to anyone moving through the space. While headphones have typically privatized our experience of the city—isolating each listener within a personal soundtrack—hear:here offers a shift: a hybrid space where movement and collaborative creation combine to shape the experience of the location. It is then up to you to decide how this place will sound.
Ensemble Opera Diversa: The Empty House
A celebratory day awaits the family—the fulfillment of their faith and a long-awaited promise. Everyone believes the moment has come to ascend to a "higher level." Yet one of them—a young girl—begins to have doubts. Disturbing encounters, an unexpected apparition, and mounting uncertainty pit her against her family, the leader of the religious community, and her own faith. What happens when she opens a door that was meant to remain closed? An intimate story about disillusionment, the courage to question, and the things that bind us together—or tear us apart.
RECONNECT: Band Of Heysek and Thee Lazy Eyes
The concert is part of the RECONNECT music conference and club festival.
Band of Heysek is a trio of blues enthusiasts from Brno playing raw, authentic, and visceral original blues.
Thee Lazy Eyes is a project by a group of friends who have been shaping the Prague underground scene for years.
The band comprises current, former, or future members of groups such as The Maggie’s Marshmallows, Kill the Dandies!, Madhouse Express, Vellocet Roll, Trailer Trash, and Mr. Pink and The Bad Thoughts.
THE(y)WANTED
The band THE(y) WANTED (from Černá Hora near Blansko) plays a rockabilly-blues style that blends elements of blues, rockabilly, rock 'n' roll, and country. Drawing inspiration from the 1950s, they feature a minimalist, raw sound and tongue-in-cheek lyrics about the lives of underdogs—a world of tough men, wild women, beautiful horses, and crooked Comanches.
301, JOHNNY ČURBES, MOLOTOV PARTY, MLHOVINA
Four bands, four distinct musical worlds, and one action-packed evening! This Brno mini-tour brings a rock whirlwind courtesy of **301**, blending the sounds of the 60s and 90s with raw garage rock. **JOHNNY ČURBES** from Přerov will unleash their post-apocalyptic, psychedelic hardcore pop-punk, while Prague’s **MOLOTOV PARTY** will add dance rock, Czech lyrics, a singing drummer, and a healthy dose of humor to the mix. Finally, **MLHOVINA** will draw you into a blend of psychedelia, garage and alternative rock, blues, and folk. Get ready for a diverse night filled with guitars, energy, and music that isn't afraid to mix genres.
LEITNERKA 70: AG FLEK
KLUB LEITNEROVA is celebrating 70 years of operation! As part of the birthday festivities, we cordially invite fans to a concert by the popular folk band AG FLEK.
AG Flek was formed in Zlín, Moravia; the original lineup consisted of vocalist Blanka Táborská, vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Ivo Viktorin, vocalist/guitarist Karel Markytán, and bassist Josef Šobáň. In 1983—with the addition of drummer Zdeněk Hromádka—they recorded a legendary, self-titled album (later reissued under the title *Blázni umírají nadvakrát* / "Fools Die Twice"). Critics consider this record a benchmark for folk and folk-rock performance in the Czech Republic. Shortly after the album's release, Blanka Táborská left the promising group; although the band continued to play, many felt that her departure caused it to lose a certain elusive, special quality. Vlasta Redl joined the band, followed by the departures of Ivo Viktorin after six years and Karel Markytán three years later... but that is another story.
AG FLEK – current lineup: Petra Šanclová – vocals; Ivo Viktorin – vocals, keyboards, guitar; Karel Markytán – vocals, guitar, harmonica; Josef Šobáň – vocals, bass guitar; Petr Hoffmann – acoustic and electric guitars; Petr Ptáček – drums.
RECONNECT 2026: Floex Ensemble | Summer with Monika
Floex Ensemble – “Directors” Live
Floex and Jan Šikl present a preview of the new concert program accompanying the release of the album *Directors*. The creative duo has crafted a unique format in which neoclassical music oscillates between the raw sound of analog synthesizers and the rich timbre of an acoustic sextet. Do not expect dance beats or grooves, nor should you anticipate a purely tranquil, meditative experience.
The new live concept from the six-piece Floex Ensemble (clarinet, bass clarinet, violin, viola, cello, and vibraphone)—led by cellist Tomáš Jamník—guides the audience through an expansive four-part composition, complemented by additional pieces that reflect the Ensemble’s new sound. Originally formed as an ad-hoc project to perform Floex’s soundtracks live, the group has evolved into an independent creative collective through a long-standing collaboration with composer and conductor Jan Šikl, officially marking a new chapter in its history with this album.

MILAN KUNDERA’S MUSICAL DNA: HOW BRNO TUNED THE WRITER
The Musical DNA of Milan Kundera: How Brno Tuned the Famous Writer
Tracing the Brno musical avant-garde with Miloš Štědroň
Milan Kundera grew up in the exceptionally stimulating environment of Brno’s musical modernism. From childhood, he was surrounded by the legacy of Leoš Janáček, whose compositions were frequently played at home by his father—Ludvík Kundera, a pianist, musicologist, and rector of JAMU. His father was a direct pupil of Janáček, as was the composer Václav Kaprál, who taught the young Milan and shaped his musical thinking. Throughout his life, Kundera viewed music not merely as background, but as a direct inspiration for the compositional structure of his novels. Join us to discover how Brno’s avant-garde musical milieu influenced one of the world’s most significant writers. Our guide will be the composer and personal friend of Milan Kundera, Miloš Štědroň.
The tour is organized in cooperation with the Milan Kundera Library.

SĽUK: Genezis
This music and dance program, accompanied by film projections, is based on selected biblical themes from the Book of Genesis.
The fascinating story of the world’s gradual creation—from the making of Adam and Eve to the seventh day of rest—offers scope for a fresh, playful, and imaginative approach to the various themes. By depicting their expulsion from the Garden of Eden, the creators also reveal the dark side of humanity on stage. Moral corruption gives way to divine wrath; the parallels to the present day are intentional, prompting SĽUK to consciously pose a series of unsettling questions to the audience.
Creative animations and large-scale projections, along with the captivating performance of the SĽUK dance ensemble, are complemented by witty theatrical vignettes and spoken commentary from actors František Kovár, Petra Molnárová, and René Štúr.
RECONNECT: Kubo Ursiny & Provisorium
Deža ví Tour 2026
RECONNECT: Kubo Ursiny & Provisorium
Following a series of twenty concerts across Czechoslovakia in 2025—marking the 30th anniversary of Dežo Ursiny’s passing—Kubo Ursiny & Provisorium will return to stages in Slovakia and the Czech Republic in 2026. In this project dedicated to Dežo Ursiny’s musical legacy, the band revisits a cross-section of his work, performing tracks such as *Příběh*, *1000 pokojů*, *Modrý vrch*, *Pod hladinou*, *Mluv mi do ucha*, *Baby Do Not Cry*, and *Let's Make a Summer*, as well as songs from the musical, all delivered by top-tier Slovak musicians.
Valér Miko—one of Slovakia’s most innovative pianists, who has accompanied Kubo in this project since 2011—will be on keyboards. The exceptional Marián Slávka, known for his work in several contemporary projects, will play drums. Tomáš Michalčák—a standout talent of the new generation with a remarkably broad musical range—contributes guitar, vocals, and keyboards; he also collaborates with Kubo on their original project, Teatro Fatal. Rounding out the lineup on bass is the talented Samuel Šomorjai.
Combined with Kubo’s vocals, the band once again brings Dežo’s music to the stage in a highly authentic form.
AN INDEX OF METALS
Communing with the Spirit of Ivan Blatný
Concert Program:
GÉRARD GRISEY: Périodes
MICHAL RATAJ: A Game of Chess (2026) – commissioned by the BCO (Brno Contemporary Orchestra), world premiere
FAUSTO ROMITELLI: An Index of Metals
Kaoko Amano (soprano)
Paolo Pachini / Martin Svobodník (video)
Michal Rataj and Pavel Blažek (chess players)
BCO – Brno Contemporary Orchestra
Conductor: Pavel Šnajdr
Romitelli’s monumental video-opera *An Index of Metals* represents an extension of spectral principles into the realm of multimedia, while simultaneously linking them with the aesthetics of psychedelic rock, noise, and electronic music. The composer himself viewed the work as an attempt to transcend the boundaries of opera. He sought to create a "total perceptual experience" in which sound, image, and light merge into a single stream leading to a hypnotic trance. Here, Romitelli develops his fascination with the materiality of sound and speaks of abandoning traditional operatic narrative: the "plot" is not a story, but rather the transformation of sound, image, and energy. The work will be performed in the industrial space of the former garages near Bobycentrum. Its raw architecture and unique acoustics are ideal for this audiovisual event; the space does not merely serve as a backdrop but becomes an active participant, merging with the image and sound into a single, immersive whole.
LEITNERKA 70: Budoár staré dámy – new album launch
KLUB LEITNEROVA is celebrating 70 years of operation! As part of the birthday festivities, we cordially invite fans to the album launch of the cult band Budoár staré dámy…

This intergenerational and cross-genre gathering promises a truly satisfying experience. The album (on LP and CD) and other merchandise will be available for purchase on-site—before anywhere else!
Formed in 1998, Budoár staré dámy is considered a torchbearer of the Brno alternative rock tradition. Their style is instantly recognizable thanks to energetic female vocals, infectious melodies, poetic lyrics, and a unique way of bending and playing with the Czech language. Marta Kovářová’s vocal delivery—alternating between fragile and fierce—is punctuated by Marek Laudát’s guitar work and driven by the rhythm section of drummer Petr Fučík and bassist Tomáš Ergens.

Just SCHILLER and his machines—performing live in real-time, creating layered soundscapes right before your eyes. These concerts are stripped down to the essentials: hypnotic sequences, pulsating rhythms, melodic trance elements, and electronic textures in their purest form. Immersive, emotional, and intensely physical. Pure electronic music within arm's reach. In an age where so much of our lives plays out on screens, VOYAGE focuses on what truly matters: shared space, a genuine moment, people, and music—here and now. A limited number of tickets. If you want to experience SCHILLER up close like this, don’t wait. SCHILLER – VOYAGE Live. Up close. Pure electronica.
Young Widows (US) + Aicher (AUS) + Ginger Wizard + Self-Immolation Music (UK)
YOUNG WIDOWS (USA)
With their unique blend of noise rock, hardcore, and post-punk, Young Widows have inspired legions of underground bands worldwide. The sound, compositions, and individual passages on their latest record, *Power Sucker*, are precisely the reason why they remain an active band even after an eleven-year hiatus.
Despite all their past successes, Young Widows approach their fifth studio album with the energy and intensity of a debut release from a brand-new band.
At its core, this is the return of three musicians sharing an enduring love for sonic artistry. Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, this power trio performs with a signature precision and style that coalesce into a perfectly cohesive whole.
The music of Aicher is the work of Berlin-based British-Australian artist Liam Andrews, known for his role in the post-punk band MY DISCO and as a touring member of Big Brave.

ZVUKOVÁ INSTALACE Ecosystem 2.0
FILIP DOBROCKÝ (1998)
Ecosystem 2.0, a networked sound installation inspired by natural ecosystems
The installation consists of a system of fictional life forms that communicate with one another through musical patterns. While these cybernetic organisms manifest themselves via sound or light, the very essence of their communication remains hidden from human perception—information is transmitted via a wireless mesh network. The quality of transmission directly influences the behavior of individual entities; thus, the physical properties of the network—including lost or delayed messages—help shape the resulting soundscape. Each recipient subsequently modifies the received pattern according to its own "DNA," thereby creating a decentralized genetic algorithm. The installation thus forms a dynamic system in which sound structures continuously transform through the communication, mutation, and adaptation of individual organisms.
The installation is open to the public starting at 18:00, one hour before the concert.

The program presents works by composers from several generations, united by an interest in timbre as an independent element of musical thought. The starting point is the work of Giacinto Scelsi, whose focus on the internal structure and mutability of a single tone foreshadowed many principles of later spectral music. Alongside his work, the program features pieces by Jonathan Harvey and Kaija Saariaho, as well as representatives of contemporary post-spectral trends—such as Georg Friedrich Haas and Franck Bedrossian, the latter of whom, through his *musique saturée* aesthetic, pushes spectral thinking toward extreme sonic density and intensity. Here, the string quartet serves as an exceptionally sensitive medium for revealing subtle transformations within the sound itself. In some of the works, the ensemble's capabilities are further expanded through the use of electronics and spatialization.
