A concert marking the 300th anniversary of the birth of lutenist Karel Kohaut—one of the last virtuosos of the instrument—who is the subject of a panel exhibition at the Moravian Library scheduled for the first half of 2027.

Soloists Marta Kratochvílová and Jan Čižmář from the ensemble *Les Plaisirs de Musique* will perform works not only by this "last Viennese lutenist"—as Kohaut is often called—but also by his contemporaries, drawn from significant musical collections preserved in Moravia.

The concert program will be hosted by the exhibition’s curator, Jana Franková, Ph.D., who will also introduce the audience to the life story of this largely forgotten musician.

Kateřina and Dalibor Štrunc and their genre-spanning band, Cimbal Classic, have invited some fascinating guests to this year’s "Pohodový koncert" (Relaxed Concert) at Belcredi Castle in Brno-Líšeň.

You can look forward to performances by Hana Ulrychová of the band Javory and the renowned actress Jitka Čvančarová, as well as *LIDOVĚK*—an intriguing modern folk project by Matěj Metoděj Štrunc—all at a great price within the unique setting of the castle!

Metastavy returns to concerts after two years and will perform on September 9 at the Brno Kabinet MÚZ.

Metastavy – a band consisting of Anna Hokešová, Ursula Sereghy, Ashley Abrman, Marek Pach and Nodin Péči. Their music is a combination of neo-soul, jazz, hip-hop and poetry. Anna Hokešová's lyrics focus on growing up in the city, love and experiencing life with dreams. The music takes the listener somewhere on the border of everyday reality and the fog of days, into which traffic lights, night shop windows and street lamps shine. Faces, trams and vague memories of younger versions of the world peek out from the tones. Metastavy was formed in 2018 and became known with their first album Až vyrostu from 2019 and the second album Žhnoucí ticho was released in 2023.

You may have already seen this actor of Balkan descent in a production at the National Theatre in Prague, which is now his home stage. In addition to theatre, he composes music, writes lyrics, and—as if that weren't enough—dabbles in the visual arts.

The band is a fixture of the Czech music scene, having fundamentally influenced the development of domestic rock music through its work and impact. It was founded in 1985 by Robert Kodym (vocals, guitar) and P.B.CH. (bass), who were later joined by Tomáš Waschinger (drums), Petr Franc (keyboards), and Michal Penk (vocals). In 1987, Michal Dvořák brought in singer and drummer David Koller. After several lineup changes, the group stabilized in the early 1990s with the lineup of Robert Kodym, P.B.CH., David Koller (drums), and Michal Dvořák (keyboards).

A major breakthrough came in the early 1990s with the albums *In the Sky* and *Černý kočky, mokrý žáby*. These recordings produced legendary hits that resonated with several generations of fans and remain staples of their concert setlists to this day.

Throughout its existence, LUCIE has won numerous prestigious awards—including ten Anděl Awards—and sold hundreds of thousands of records. Despite lineup changes and periods of touring hiatuses, the band has maintained its distinctive style and concert energy.

A recent anniversary tour across the Czech Republic reaffirmed the band's standing on the domestic scene and the enduring interest of audiences across generations. LUCIE is currently working on a new album titled *R.A.D.O.S.T.*

This groundbreaking production seamlessly blends the comedy and gravitas of Shakespearean drama with the visceral excitement of live combat, thanks to a cast of actors trained in professional wrestling! Kristián Šebek has twice sold out Prague’s Lucerna Hall with his musical project "Můj vzor, ​​Božský Karel" (My Idol, the Divine Karel), and his concerts across the country have been completely sold out for two years running! This year, he is embarking on a tour accompanied by the Slawinski Orchestra, featuring songs you have never heard him perform before and visiting venues where he has never appeared until now!

Audiences can look forward to everything they have come to expect from his concerts. The repertoire will include not only the most famous melodies of his idol, Karel Gott—such as "Stokrát chválím čas," "Lady Karneval," and "Jdi za štěstím"—but also hits by other Czech and international legends like Waldemar Matuška, Frank Sinatra, Jiří Korn, and Elvis Presley. There will also be melodies from films and fairy tales—all perfectly arranged for his orchestra.

After a year, Szidi Tobias returns to the stage of the Mahen Theater and celebrates 25 years on the music scene this year.

This evening will be more than just a concert; it will be the culmination of two decades during which the B-Side Band has established itself as one of the defining projects of the Czech music scene.

The celebrations marking the B-Side Band’s 20th anniversary will culminate where it all began: at the Brno City Theatre, the very place where the band’s debut project took place two decades ago. This evening will be more than just a concert; it will be the culmination of two decades during which the B-Side Band has established itself as one of the defining projects of the Czech music scene.

Founded by its conductor in 1939, the Karel Vlach Orchestra is the oldest big band in Europe. It is undoubtedly one of the most significant representatives of swing, jazz, dance, and popular music, having been active on the music scene continuously for 85 years.

The Christmas concert will feature the best-known Czech and international Christmas songs, including famous swing numbers from the repertoire of the legendary Glenn Miller Orchestra. The orchestra will be accompanied by the Coro Piccolo children's choir, whose rendition of Czech carols will infuse the concert with a wonderful Christmas atmosphere.

The musical encounter between Italian bandoneonist Daniele di Bonaventura and guitarist Marcello Peghìn within the *Elegiaco* project represents one of those rare moments when technical virtuosity yields to pure emotion. The title of the album—and the concert project as a whole—was not chosen at random; here, "elegiac" is not a synonym for despondency or depression, but rather for a noble melancholy, contemplation, and a profound serenity that feels almost like an act of rebellion in today’s fast-paced world.

At the heart of this collaboration lies a dialogue between two instruments that hold a unique place in both Italian and global musical traditions. In the hands of Daniele di Bonaventura, the bandoneon transcends its role as a mere symbol of Argentine tango. His playing captures a depth that is almost sacred—reminiscent of the organ—alongside a folk-like earthiness and a sense of lightness. Complementing di Bonaventura is Marcello Peghìn, a guitarist with a keen ear for tonal color; he does not use his instrument merely for standard accompaniment but treats it as a full-fledged partner, creating space for the bandoneon, enriching its timbres, and occasionally gently prompting it toward more dynamic passages.
