Gypsy Swing

Music inspired by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli that evokes the atmosphere of French cafés from the 1930s and 1940s. The band focuses on an authentic style that transports listeners back to the golden age of swing.

KLUB LEITNEROVA is celebrating 70 years of operation! As part of the birthday festivities, we cordially invite fans to a concert by the indie-folk band Tajíledy.

Since 2025, the band Tajíledy has been bringing a delicate, understated poetic quality to the Moravian music scene—a style reflecting the long-standing creative work of Jakub Navrátil, known for projects such as Láska and Listolet. Together with bassist David Škoda and drummer Jan Janečka, they form a trio grounded in mature, original songwriting. They are joined in concert by guitarist Radek Pelikán.

In 2026, the band released the album *Před sklizní* (Before the Harvest). Its nine songs tell a story of quiet secrets and the inner fire that keeps us alive—of the fact that there is always something to keep hidden and always something worth melting for. The music journeys from cool, melancholic moods and secret nooks to warm reconciliation; from a childhood hideout in a cornfield to the lived-in home of adulthood; and from gentle folk and driving rhythms to lighthearted electro-beats. Woven throughout the album is the joy of ice melting between loved ones, contrasted with the sadness of actual ice melting away.

Tata Bojs is a Prague-based pop-rock band formed in 1988. Its founding members are Milan Cais (drums) and Marek Huňát (aka Mardoša; bass), while other permanent members include Vladimír Bár, Dušan Neuwerth, and Jiří Hradil.

The idea to form the band came to two classmates—Milan Cais (drums) and Marek Huňát (aka Mardoša; bass)—while they were still attending elementary school in Prague’s Hanspaulka district. They recruited guitarist Marek Padevět, who played guitar and sang, and later also played the clarinet. The newly formed Tata Bojs played their first concert on June 29, 1988, in the TJ Spartak Dejvice gymnasium. This marked the beginning of the group's career performing in music clubs across Prague and beyond.

Since their school days, Tata Bojs have released over ten albums, including the successful *Biorytmy*, *Ležatá osmička*, *Jedna nula*, and *Nanoalbum*, the latter of which won four "Golden Angel" awards in 2004.

Ivo "Spyder" Křižan – an American musician of Czech descent who has played and collaborated with many prominent musicians such as Jeff Beck, Doug Lunn, Henri Bozzie, Mitch Mitchell, and others. Rock, Pop, R&B, Blues, Originals.

Three platforms, four projects, and one evening at Fraktal. RECONNECT Festival, the favu label, and Heartnoize are joining forces to bring a lineup featuring Devon Rexi, Bugiebby, Cera, and HNAT to Brno on October 1st. Cera weaves field recordings, synthesizers, and her own voice into soundscapes where ambient blends with noise, and sensitivity meets both melancholy and playfulness. Bugiebby presents DelaXX—a strangely unsettling, chaotic, and melancholic yet sexy mix of new material straddling the lines between high-energy club music, ambient, pop, deconstructed club, trap, and experimental electronica. Devon Rexi operate within a realm defined by a motorik Krautrock mentality, a dub-infused physicality, and an unclassifiable spirit of experimentation. HNAT, a key figure in the Brno underground scene, will close out the lineup with a set driven by hard-hitting percussive beats, energy, atmosphere, and flow.

Band of Heysek is a trio of blues enthusiasts from Brno playing raw, authentic, and visceral original blues.

Thee Lazy Eyes is a project by a group of friends who have been shaping the Prague underground scene for years.

The band comprises current, former, or future members of groups such as The Maggie’s Marshmallows, Kill the Dandies!, Madhouse Express, Vellocet Roll, Trailer Trash, and Mr. Pink and The Bad Thoughts.

The band THE(y) WANTED (from Černá Hora near Blansko) plays a rockabilly-blues style that blends elements of blues, rockabilly, rock 'n' roll, and country. Drawing inspiration from the 1950s, they feature a minimalist, raw sound and tongue-in-cheek lyrics about the lives of underdogs—a world of tough men, wild women, beautiful horses, and crooked Comanches.

Four bands, four distinct musical worlds, and one action-packed evening! This Brno mini-tour brings a rock whirlwind courtesy of **301**, blending the sounds of the 60s and 90s with raw garage rock. **JOHNNY ČURBES** from Přerov will unleash their post-apocalyptic, psychedelic hardcore pop-punk, while Prague’s **MOLOTOV PARTY** will add dance rock, Czech lyrics, a singing drummer, and a healthy dose of humor to the mix. Finally, **MLHOVINA** will draw you into a blend of psychedelia, garage and alternative rock, blues, and folk. Get ready for a diverse night filled with guitars, energy, and music that isn't afraid to mix genres.

AG Flek was formed in Zlín, Moravia; the original lineup consisted of vocalist Blanka Táborská, vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Ivo Viktorin, vocalist/guitarist Karel Markytán, and bassist Josef Šobáň. In 1983—with the addition of drummer Zdeněk Hromádka—they recorded a legendary, self-titled album (later reissued under the title *Blázni umírají nadvakrát* / "Fools Die Twice"). Critics consider this record a benchmark for folk and folk-rock performance in the Czech Republic. Shortly after the album's release, Blanka Táborská left the promising group; although the band continued to play, many felt that her departure caused it to lose a certain elusive, special quality. Vlasta Redl joined the band, followed by the departures of Ivo Viktorin after six years and Karel Markytán three years later... but that is another story.

AG FLEK – current lineup: Petra Šanclová – vocals; Ivo Viktorin – vocals, keyboards, guitar; Karel Markytán – vocals, guitar, harmonica; Josef Šobáň – vocals, bass guitar; Petr Hoffmann – acoustic and electric guitars; Petr Ptáček – drums.

Floex Ensemble – “Directors” Live

Floex and Jan Šikl present a preview of the new concert program accompanying the release of the album *Directors*. The creative duo has crafted a unique format in which neoclassical music oscillates between the raw sound of analog synthesizers and the rich timbre of an acoustic sextet. Do not expect dance beats or grooves, nor should you anticipate a purely tranquil, meditative experience.

The new live concept from the six-piece Floex Ensemble (clarinet, bass clarinet, violin, viola, cello, and vibraphone)—led by cellist Tomáš Jamník—guides the audience through an expansive four-part composition, complemented by additional pieces that reflect the Ensemble’s new sound. Originally formed as an ad-hoc project to perform Floex’s soundtracks live, the group has evolved into an independent creative collective through a long-standing collaboration with composer and conductor Jan Šikl, officially marking a new chapter in its history with this album.

RECONNECT: Kubo Ursiny & Provisorium
Following a series of twenty concerts across Czechoslovakia in 2025—marking the 30th anniversary of Dežo Ursiny’s passing—Kubo Ursiny & Provisorium will return to stages in Slovakia and the Czech Republic in 2026. In this project dedicated to Dežo Ursiny’s musical legacy, the band revisits a cross-section of his work, performing tracks such as *Příběh*, *1000 pokojů*, *Modrý vrch*, *Pod hladinou*, *Mluv mi do ucha*, *Baby Do Not Cry*, and *Let's Make a Summer*, as well as songs from the musical, all delivered by top-tier Slovak musicians.

Valér Miko—one of Slovakia’s most innovative pianists, who has accompanied Kubo in this project since 2011—will be on keyboards. The exceptional Marián Slávka, known for his work in several contemporary projects, will play drums. Tomáš Michalčák—a standout talent of the new generation with a remarkably broad musical range—contributes guitar, vocals, and keyboards; he also collaborates with Kubo on their original project, Teatro Fatal. Rounding out the lineup on bass is the talented Samuel Šomorjai.

Combined with Kubo’s vocals, the band once again brings Dežo’s music to the stage in a highly authentic form.

Launch of the album *Úplně pitomé době* (In a Totally Stupid Time) featuring special guests!
The Brno-based indie/alternative rock band returns to the very place where they started nearly 30 years ago!
In a packed evening, they will launch their new album and showcase the work of young rapper Erkyll and the female vocal trio Voicebabes, both of whom contributed to the record. This intergenerational and cross-genre gathering promises a truly satisfying experience. The album (on LP and CD) and other merchandise will be available for purchase on-site—before anywhere else!

Formed in 1998, Budoár staré dámy is considered a torchbearer of the Brno alternative rock tradition. Their style is instantly recognizable thanks to energetic female vocals, infectious melodies, poetic lyrics, and a unique way of bending and playing with the Czech language. Marta Kovářová’s vocal delivery—alternating between fragile and fierce—is punctuated by Marek Laudát’s guitar work and driven by the rhythm section of drummer Petr Fučík and bassist Tomáš Ergens.

YOUNG WIDOWS (USA)

With their unique blend of noise rock, hardcore, and post-punk, Young Widows have inspired legions of underground bands worldwide. The sound, compositions, and individual passages on their latest record, *Power Sucker*, are precisely the reason why they remain an active band even after an eleven-year hiatus.

Despite all their past successes, Young Widows approach their fifth studio album with the energy and intensity of a debut release from a brand-new band.

At its core, this is the return of three musicians sharing an enduring love for sonic artistry. Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, this power trio performs with a signature precision and style that coalesce into a perfectly cohesive whole.

The music of Aicher is the work of Berlin-based British-Australian artist Liam Andrews, known for his role in the post-punk band MY DISCO and as a touring member of Big Brave.

GINGER WIZARD & THE PETER JACKSONS

Psychedelia, dungeon synth, prog-rock, and a love for fantasy—Ginger Wizard, originally a studio project by Radomír Szajter (ex-Pacino), has materialized into the wonderfully eclectic lineup of Ginger Wizard & The Peter Jacksons. Alongside the project's mastermind, the band features Tomáš Vondra (Orient, Tomáš Palucha), Vítek Chaloupecký (Rutka Laskier, Tomáš Palucha), Lukáš Polák (Orient), and Emil Prachař (Vole).

Christina Mantis

Christina Mantis is a musician whose work is characterized by candid—and at times sarcastic—reflections on her personal life, relationships, and the role of women in society. Her musical style has been shaped by influences ranging from rock 'n' roll and soul to punk.

SJU

SJU’s work blends alternative pop and art-pop with striking visual storytelling. Her music straddles the line between raw emotion and symbolic abstraction, where fashion, movement, and recurring visual motifs become integral parts of the musical narrative.

Marie April is a Czech-American singer and musician based in Prague. In January 2024, she formed the band "Marie April & The Fools," with whom she performs live. Musically, both the band and the singer draw from jazz, soul, rock, and indie genres. She won the Anděl Award for Discovery of the Year 2025.

Bratři Orffové perform only sporadically, yet audience interest remains undiminished. Even more than a decade after the release of the album *Šero*—which won both the Anděl Award and the Apollo music critics' award for Best Album of 2013—the band continues to find new listeners, and their music resonates across generations. New tracks might even be added to their repertoire as early as 2026.

Bratři Orffové have been active on the music scene since 2002. The band's name alludes to the pioneers of Czechoslovak electronic music, the Orm brothers, as well as to Orff instruments. The lineup has evolved over the years; today, it consists of singer and guitarist Ivan Gajdoš, guitarist Lukáš Novotný, trumpeter Libor Martiník, drummer Petr Odstrčil, bassist Břetislav Koláček, and keyboardist/synthesizer player Zdeněk Henych. The media hailed the 2005 release of their debut album, *Bingriwingri*, as a major event for the domestic alternative music scene. In 2023, the label Minority Records reissued both of the band's albums in remastered vinyl editions.

Four distinctive artists on one stage: Norbi Kovács, Olin Nejezchleba, Pavel Fischer, and singer, lyricist, and composer Jana Infeldová.

Jana Infeldová is a singer, composer, and lyricist with a charismatic voice. She writes songs featuring distinctive lyrics. She founded the band Jananas, with whom she has released successful albums. She collaborates with musicians across various countries and genres, having written lyrics for artists such as Lucie Bílá, Ewa Farna, and Xindl X.

Norbi Kovács is a phenomenal guitarist who has collaborated with Ivan Hlas, Radůza, Petr Skoumal, and Mário Bihári.

Jaroslav "Olin" Nejezchleba is known for his work with the legendary band Marsyas, and later with Etc…, Čunderground, Blues Session, and the Ivan Hlas Trio.

Cellist and singer Dorota Barová, a two-time nominee for the 2025 Anděl Awards, will perform in an exclusive lineup to present her most intimate album, accompanied by guests you would not normally see together on the same stage.

The Death and Taxes Swing Band is unavoidably swingin'. You've heard all the usual swing bands, time to check out something a little different. Featuring extra danceable arrangements, sultry vocals, and a whole lot of rhythm.

A concert by James Harries is an invitation into an intimate world of songs capable of making time stand still for a moment. The renowned British singer-songwriter and film composer delivers a delicate, focused, yet powerful experience that balances melancholy with playful euphoria. With his "golden voice" and lyrical expression, he will present his latest album, *Love & Desire*—which has been shortlisted for the 2025 Anděl Awards.

BEATROOT (SK)

BeatRoot brings a sound rooted in '80s funk—but with a modern twist—to Groove Brno. Comprising experienced musicians, the Slovak band focuses on original material and a rich instrumental lineup, ranging from the rhythm section and keyboards to a horn section. Their music blends funk, jazz, rock, and gospel, driven by arrangements that combine precise structure with dynamic live energy.

BeatRoot brings a sound rooted in 80s funk—but with a modern twist—to Groove Brno. Comprising experienced musicians, the Slovak band focuses on original material and rich instrumentation, ranging from the rhythm section and keyboards to a full horn section. Their music blends funk, jazz, rock, and gospel, relying on arrangements that combine precise structure with dynamic live energy.

While influences such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Tower of Power, and Cory Wong are audible, BeatRoot uses them merely as a foundation; the result is a contemporary, high-energy sound that truly comes alive on stage.

The launch of the album *Teorie mizení* (Theory of Disappearing) will take place on October 7 at 7:00 PM at Café Práh in Brno. Nevermore & Kosmonaut will present their new album, which features contributions from a number of guest artists. The evening’s performance will include the entire new album as well as songs from previous releases. Admission is 200 CZK, and tickets are available only at the venue.

Released on October 1, 2026, by the V kruzích label, *Teorie mizení* comprises eleven conceptually linked songs. The lyrics poetically explore themes of loss and disappearance, while the music blends acoustic tracks with rock songs. Musicians contributing to the album include a string quartet, an accordionist, a pianist, and other guests. The cover art and booklet were designed by artist Katarína Kratochvílová.

The single "Měsíční krajiny" is already available to listen to on YouTube, and the full album can be found on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.

Vojtěch Špiller – trumpet; Jan Khýr – electric guitar, vocals; František Komárek – bass guitar; and Václav Khýr – drums, vocals.

Khyr Brothers is a blues-jazz-rock band from Opava that performs primarily original material. Their repertoire also includes musical adaptations of poetry by Oldřich Mikulášek, Petr Skarlant, and Josef Kainar. Stylistically, the band draws comparisons to Robben Ford or the Prague-based group ASPM. Their distinctive sound is further enhanced by the recent addition of excellent trumpet playing.
They were finalists in the 2026 Blues Aperitiv competition, placing in the top three and advancing from that final round to the Blues Alive festival in Šumperk in the autumn of 2026.

The Prague-based band Good Times Only (GTO) is releasing its third full-length album, *Tohle mi ještě nikdy nikdo nedělal*. Unlike their previous records—*Pěkný chvíle* (2020) and *Teď na to myslim* (2023)—GTO has now embraced a path of creative and studio freedom, working without a dedicated producer. While they collaborated with Jakub Kaifosz (Lazer Viking, Wild Tides) on their first two releases, the creation of the new tracks involved only occasional production consultations with Nikola Šolaja (Kvietah, Atomy Nevadí), who otherwise serves as the mixing engineer.

Teige is an alternative-pop band based in Prague. Originally a trio, the group expanded into a five-piece ensemble and released its debut album, *květiny nonstop*, in the autumn of 2025. The record earned the band—originally from Kutná Hora—a nomination for "Discovery of the Year" at the Vinyla Music Awards and received a positive reception from music critics.

BRAND is the brainchild of singer, songwriter, and guitarist David Nekola. Born and raised in the Czech Republic, David begin learning guitar and mandolin from his father and friends at an early age. Drawing from bluegrass, country, and rock influences, he brings an eclectic and distinctive style to both his writing and guitar work. His unique approach and instrumental mastery are on full display in his recordings and live performances. He has been gaining accolades and recognition in Europe and America since 1992 Bonton/Sony Music album release Rok dlouhých týdnů by the band Grassquartet.

Now paired with a powerful and adventurous rhythm section featuring Chicago veterans Brian McDermott (drums) and Dave Moore (bass), BRAND is a dynamic trio that brings David's original compositions to life with a formidable and electrifying energy.

Eggnoise is an original project led by the songwriting duo of Ondra Kopička and Ondřej Galuška; the band has been active on the Czech music scene for nearly twenty-five years. For their album *ALBUMEN*, Eggnoise received three nominations at the Just Plain Folks 2009 Music Awards, one of the world's major independent music award events.

In 2010, Eggnoise performed a collaborative program with Lenka Dusilová. In 2012, they composed the original soundtrack for the film *Svatá čtveřice* (Holy Quaternity) by director Jan Hřebejk.

After a hiatus from live performances lasting several years, Eggnoise is returning to the stage with their most recent concert lineup, featuring—alongside the two songwriters—top-tier musicians Michael Nosek, Jaryn Janek, and Jan Mizler.

Actress, lyricist, and singer Ester Kočičková and the accompanying group of musicians known as the Moody Cat Band.

Following the release of her album *Pozvi ma, neprídem*, Katarzia is exploring her rap skills; together with her band (synths, drums, bass) and electronic wizard Aid Kid, she is preparing special arrangements that blend electronic and acoustic elements, guitar, and rap.

On her eighth studio album, she guides listeners through the next chapter of her life. A deep dive into personal doubts and an analysis of romantic relationships remain the core ingredients of this new batch of songs. Millennials—forever in a state of coming-of-age—may well recognize themselves in certain generational dilemmas, such as societal pressure to start a family or a reluctance to fully succumb to the trap known as adulthood.

Al Jacobi represents a distorted, fragmented self-reflection—like shards of a broken bathroom mirror vibrating to the bass-heavy rhythm of an underground club. Through an eclectic blend of poetry, electronic music, and hip-hop, he gives voice to the unspoken truths we all ignore for the sake of comfort.

Al has completed several international tours and collaborated with artists from around the globe. Now, in the autumn of 2026, he is preparing to perform 100 shows in 100 days across Europe; he plans to collaborate with local scenes and share his entire process, aiming to empower fellow artists and champion camaraderie over competition. Al Jacobi is also the only rapper in the world who performs using MiMU Gloves—a wireless, gesture-based MIDI controller used to manipulate various musical parameters during live shows.

Jedna z nejosobitějších pěvkyň a písničkářek své generace se vrací do Kouřícího králíka! Marta Töpferová, rodačka z Ostravy, v roce 1987 emigrovala do USA a od poloviny devadesátých let se stala součástí newyorské latino-jazzové scény, kde spolupracovala s předními hudebníky napříč žánry. Londýnský The Times ji označil za „jednu z nejpůsobivějších interpretek latinskoamerické lidové hudby“.

V roce 2012 se vrátila do Česka a začala zpívat i skládat v mateřštině – ve své hudbě propojuje moravský a slovanský folklor s latinskoamerickými rytmy, čtyřstrunným cuatrem a kytarou. Za sebou má devět alb (mimo jiný projekt Milokraj, nominovaný na cenu Anděl 2014, nebo album Tento svět z roku 2017) a koncerty newyorského klubu Blue Note přes Vienna Jazz Festival až po London Jazz Festival.

Do Brna přijíždí se svým triem – čeká nás večer plný syrových hlasů, kytar a rytmů dvou kontinentů.

Random Choices

Random Choices is an alt-rock trio hailing from Brno and Trenčín that has performed across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Austria. In the spring of 2026, they released a new album titled *Takto je to fajn* ("It’s Fine This Way"), which reflects the frustration and confusion of living in a world dominated by algorithms. RCH proves that just three people are enough to create an incredibly full sound and deliver an energetic show.

Trippiez

Trippiez—a band of dark, spiritual romantics—will perform with a lineup featuring Pawlie Poizn, Medooza, John Corney, and Dan Leskovjan. Having formed this new lineup earlier this year, they are ready to captivate your ears with a delicious blend of alternative rock and pop-punk, occasionally infused with heavier or even electronic elements. Their electrifying energy, raw emotion, and touch of gritty poetics will sweep you away with their incredible authenticity. A mosh pit is highly recommended!

Míma is a Slovak singer-songwriter and musical theatre actress from the Brno City Theatre who released her debut album, *Quitnutie*, in July 2025. She presents the album in an intimate acoustic setting, accompanied solely by pianist Petr Lopour. Together, they create a musical space where time stands still. In addition to original songs, the performance features distinctive arrangements of well-known melodies—all presented in an acoustic style that allows every note to shine.

Martin Chodúr is bringing his band to the club for a concert that highlights what matters most: his exceptionally powerful voice, original songs, and an immediate connection with the audience. The club setting offers a unique way to experience Martin Chodúr—distinct from large-scale stages—creating an atmosphere that is intimate, authentic, and barrier-free. The setlist spans his original work from the albums *Let’s Celebrate*, *Manifest*, *Martin Chodúr 3*, and *Tisíc a jedna noc*, including tracks that have charted on Czech Radio. Musically, the concert blends pop, rock, jazz, and film score influences. Accompanying the top-notch band is a transverse flute, adding a distinctive timbre and elegance to the arrangements.

FEEDBRAIN is a dynamic rock trio that burst onto the scene in 2024.
With a unique blend of grunge, funk, and alternative rock, the band creates a distinctive sound that
oscillates between raw energy and a captivating atmosphere.

The legendary band Dunaj is celebrating its 40th anniversary, while the B-Side Band marks its 20th. Together, they will celebrate a combined "sixty years" on this special evening. Birthday guests will include Petr Váša, Jiří Hradil, and others.
This unique project fuses an alternative chapter of Czech music history with the rich, expansive sound of the B-Side Band’s horn section—one of today’s most outstanding big bands.
Dunaj—a band with a distinctive signature style, poetic sensibility, and a sound that never pandered to trends—steps into a new context here. The legendary band Dunaj is celebrating its 40th anniversary, while the B-Side Band marks its 20th. Together, they will celebrate a combined "sixty years" on this special evening. Birthday guests will include Petr Váša, Jiří Hradil, and others.

This original project fuses the history of Czech alternative music with the rich, expansive sound of the B-Side Band’s horn section—one of today’s most outstanding big bands.

The Czech EDM/rock band Blitz Union is hitting the road in support of their new album, *Evolution*. Thanks to their instantly recognizable sonic DNA—combining heavy guitar riffs, catchy electronic hooks, and danceable, atmospheric industrial beats—Blitz Union has firmly established itself on the electronic rock scene in recent years.

Tracks such as "Plastic," "Hotel India Victoria," and "Human Robot" have helped the Czech quartet amass millions of streams. The band has performed at major festivals like M’era Luna and Amphi and shared the stage with acts such as Lord of the Lost, Subway to Sally, and Oomph!, while also building a strong following through their own headline shows.

Kristián Šebek has twice sold out Prague’s Lucerna Hall with his musical project "Můj vzor, ​​Božský Karel" (My Idol, the Divine Karel), and his concerts across the country have been completely sold out for two years running! This year, he is embarking on a tour accompanied by the Slawinski Orchestra, featuring songs you have never heard him perform before and visiting venues where he has never appeared until now!

Audiences can look forward to everything they have come to expect from his concerts. The repertoire will include not only the most famous melodies of his idol, Karel Gott—such as "Stokrát chválím čas," "Lady Karneval," and "Jdi za štěstím"—but also hits by other Czech and international legends like Waldemar Matuška, Frank Sinatra, Jiří Korn, and Elvis Presley. There will also be melodies from films and fairy tales—all perfectly arranged for his orchestra.

Three bands, three distinct musical worlds, and an electrifying club night! The Zámecký pivovar Břeclav Free Night brings together garage-grunge, punk, and soul. Taking the stage will be Brno’s Modrá Laguna, the student punk band Dědečkova volba, and the six-piece Soul Power, a group that thrives on the energy and magic of soul music.

South African guitarist Gerald Clark is a storyteller. He plays high-energy rock 'n' roll, with occasional forays into the blues. He brings playfulness, infectious enthusiasm, and zest—plus a voice reminiscent of Ray Charles. That playfulness, enthusiasm, and energy are as catching as the winter flu.

There is no calculation here, no forced, sweaty posturing—just joyful music. Gerald Clark is as exuberant and dance-inducing as Ray Charles. He calls himself a bluesman, yet his songs—along with the occasional standard by Freddie King or Muddy Waters—are brisk, driving, and cheerful. It is music that leans more toward rock 'n' roll than standard twelve-bar blues.

He plays his battered Fender with his fingers, folk-style, using a pick only for solos. It is music that lifts the spirits. It is no wonder that back home in South Africa, he has won multiple awards and accolades for best live performance and for his non-commercial, multi-genre music.

What began as an all-male trio playing exclusively (speed) klezmer has evolved into a four-piece band that performs a broader range of styles—incorporating more vocals—and creates music that is beautiful and, at times, even melancholic.
