The music of Dire Straits accompanied listeners for two decades, and the work of its founder, Mark Knopfler, remains a highlight of the global pop-rock scene to this day. Among the acclaimed performers of this iconic repertoire is the German band Dire Strats, which has earned the respect of both audiences and critics across Europe.
This seasoned and engaging ensemble aims to present the music of Dire Straits to listeners with the utmost passion, reverence, and musical elegance. At the heart of their performance is that signature guitar sound—a sound that once captivated the world—which, in the hands of Dire Strats, is strikingly close to the original. Many long-time fans, both at home and abroad, consider guitarist Wolfgang Uhlich to be the very best contemporary interpreter of Knopfler’s style.
