Crocodile Orchestra
Crocodile Orchestra, a young chamber orchestra, which, as the reference to the legendary “dragon” in its name suggests, is based in the city of Brno, which is the players’ musical home. It is made up of young musicians, mostly students of leading Czech and foreign music schools. Their concert debut will be on March 27 at 7:00 PM in the Hall of the Brothers of Mercy in Brno, where they will perform Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major, followed by Dvořák’s Serenade for Strings. The soloist will be Slovak violinist Veronika Cagáňová, a member of the Crocodile Orchestra and a recent graduate of the Brno Conservatory in Jiří Pospíchal’s class. She is also studying at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where she is developing her violin skills under the guidance of Leoš Čepický. The ensemble's chief conductor, Tomáš Kalousek, who is currently a student at the Austrian Kunstuniversität Graz, where he is studying in the class of French conductor Marc Piollet, will take the baton.
