We Carry On – Drumming Session
Bring your own percussion instruments, or borrow some on-site. Come and get swept away by the rhythm!
The tradition of this celebratory drumming event began spontaneously 20 years ago, when the highly anticipated "end of the world"—slated for Saturday, December 22, 2012—failed to materialize. Since then, this celebratory event—featuring the djembe and similar instruments—has taken place regularly, held on the Tuesdays closest to the spring and autumn equinoxes, as well as the summer and winter solstices.
For those who do not own an instrument, Martin Maleček (owner of the company Masada) and Marek Pečer (organizer of the Krumlov Djembe Marathon) provide instruments available for loan.
On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, the 41st and final gathering of the initial 10-year period following the "end of the world"—organized by Vilda Dvořák—took place. Marek Pečer has since taken over the organization of these drumming sessions at Café Práh. Life goes on...
