Nutcracker
The story of young Klárka, set on Christmas Eve, takes us first into the real world of lavish holiday celebrations and then into the realm of Klárka’s dreams. This version by Canadian choreographer Fernand Nault premiered in 1964 and has come to life every winter since, performed by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in Montreal. Its highlights include a lively pace and a seamless flow of scenes, but above all, the spectacular set and costume design, which captivates children with its richness and vibrant colors. Join us in a magical world and let yourself be whisked away on a sleigh ride through a snowy landscape. Dance amidst the snowflakes until you reach the Kingdom of Sweets, where the King himself awaits to welcome you. On this fairy-tale journey, alongside the Nutcracker, you will encounter nearly a hundred different characters brought to life by soloists and members of the NdB Ballet, as well as students from the Brno Dance Conservatory and the I. V. Psota Ballet School. A ballet fairy tale for the whole family about the magic of Christmas Eve.

Portrayal of Guilt (USA) + Spike Hellis (USA)
Portrayal of Guilt—the nihilistic dark hardcore band from Texas—are returning to Kabinet MÚZ with their new album, *…Beginning of the End*!
This respected US trio made a significant impact on the underground scene with their debut, *Let Pain Be Your Guide*, blending screamo, black metal, and hardcore with inventive sonic textures. They followed up with *We Are Always Alone* and *CHRISTF*CKER*—breakthrough records that pushed the band’s genre boundaries even further, incorporating influences from industrial, post-metal, and sludge while cementing their penchant for experimentation. Portrayal of Guilt’s fearless approach subsequently transformed their sound into something akin to classical music on the *Devil Music* EP, and shifted toward EBM and gothic styles on *CHRISTF*CKER II*.

London-based producer, pianist, and composer Alfa Mist is a standout figure on the contemporary British nu-jazz scene; his work perfectly embodies the fusion of modern urban culture with deep musical tradition. His musical roots were shaped by hip-hop, dark melancholic beats, and a fascination with sampling. It was his desire to fully grasp the complex harmonic structures of the tracks he was chopping up and sampling that ultimately led him to the piano. He thus evolved from a producer into a visionary artist who found absolute creative freedom in jazz.
The term "nu jazz" covers a lot of ground, and is sometimes even co-opted by less-than-inventive musical projects. The work of Alfa Mist, however, is the exact opposite. His music serves as the voice and pulse of these current days, weeks, and months.
London-based producer, pianist, and composer Alfa Mist stands out as one of the most prominent figures on the contemporary British nu-jazz scene; his work perfectly embodies how modern urban culture can intertwine with a deep-rooted musical tradition. His musical origins were shaped by hip hop, dark and melancholic beats, and a fascination with sampling. It was, in fact, his desire to gain a detailed understanding of the complex harmonic structures within the tracks he was chopping up and sampling that eventually led him to the piano. He evolved from a producer into a visionary artist and performer—one who discovered absolute creative freedom within jazz.
Manchester natives—vocalist Josh Taylor, drummer Jack Kennedy, and guitarist Zack Breen—formed the band in 2017 and have since toured the globe alongside acts like Sum 41 and Ice Nine Kills. They have repeatedly proven their ability to keep a sweaty crowd energized, whether at Rock for People (in 2024 and 2025) or during their own headline shows; we last saw them perform in Prague and Brno last year.
Now, they are returning with their second studio album, *The Fallout* (2026), marking a shift toward a heavier sound. The opening track, "Trophy," immediately lays their cards on the table, with the vocalist’s screams cutting through an untamed alt-metal soundscape. A standout moment is the track "Violence," featuring Bethany Hunter Jiménez of As December Falls; it opens with dramatic electronic elements before kicking into a massive riff. Throughout the album, the band delves into introspective themes of self-doubt and reflection. This is not a commercial product, but rather a personal confession from every member of the band.
Munly & The Lupercalians (USA)
Munly & The Lupercalians return to Kabinet MÚZ on November 29th! Alongside the renowned rodeo-style show of Slim Cessna's Auto Club and its intimate counterpart, Denver Broncos U.K. (or DBUK), their arguably most acclaimed incarnation is also taking the stage. With this project, Munly continues to operate at the intersection of alt-country, gothic rock, blues, and gospel—albeit in a somewhat darker guise.

The band made an even greater impact with their second album, *Karnevalová vrana*, released in 2013 by Slnko Records; it reached the number-one spot on the album charts on the Slovak versions of both iTunes and Spotify. The Bartered Bride
How do you sell a bride? Ideally, through a production directed by Ondřej Havelka. Bedřich Smetana’s *The Bartered Bride*—one of the most popular Czech operas—has been in the repertoire of the Brno theatre for twenty years, yet it has lost none of its wit or appeal to audiences.
The story takes us to a village where Jeník and Mařenka, two young lovers, live. However, Mařenka is expected to marry the son of the wealthy farmer Mícha, to whom her father is in debt. Yet the young woman has no intention of simply giving up on her love and refuses to marry the chosen suitor. Jeník takes a clever approach, making use of the matchmaker Kecal. However, the couple fails to share their plans with one another, and things get a bit complicated... Ondřej Havelka has created a masterfully staged musical production; while rooted in beautiful folk traditions, it offers a distinctive perspective on the opera. It is set not during the usual summer harvest festival, but during Masopust. You can therefore look forward not only to the traveling players in Act 3 but also to an array of authentic Moravian *fašank* masquerade figures.

NdB 2: Silence Full of People / At the End of Every Light, There Is a Tunnel
Where does solitude end and closeness begin? And how many of the boundaries that limit us have we created ourselves?
Program 9 from the NdB2 junior ballet company presents two new choreographies that turn their focus to the individual—to their inner world and their relationships with others. In *Silence Full of People* (Ticho plné lidí), Klaudie Lakomá explores various forms of solitude—ranging from the feeling of loneliness amidst a crowd and isolation to the moment when solitude can become a space for self-discovery. In *At the End of Every Light There Is a Tunnel* (Na konci každého světla je tunel), Marek Svobodník ventures beyond the boundaries we create in life—boundaries we gradually begin to perceive even where none originally existed.
These two choreographic perspectives are united by the search for one’s own place—somewhere between solitude and closeness, limitation and freedom, the need for self-protection and the courage to reach out to others once more.

DEATH ANGEL + VIO-LENCE + FORBIDDEN
Death Angel will tear through their entire cult album *Act III* (1990) at Fléda. They will be joined by the ferocious Vio-Lence, delivering an uncompromising dose of raw thrash from the genre's golden era. Two pillars of the California scene, all in one night.
Death Angel returns to Brno with a truly exclusive set. This Filipino-American quintet has always ranked among the most technically proficient acts of the San Francisco Bay Area scene, but it was the year 1990—and their third studio album, *Act III*—that transformed them into genre-defying visionaries. Produced by the legendary Max Norman, the record delivered an unexpected fusion of thrash aggression with funk, acoustic passages, and heavy metal melody. At Brno’s Fléda, they will perform this gem from the first note to the last. With Mark Osegueda on vocals and guitar wizard Rob Cavestany leading the charge, they will deliver a masterclass in precise riffing and timeless stage dynamics that seem to defy the laws of physics.
Sharing the bill is another absolute cult icon of that same scene: Vio-Lence. This is the band that defined "crossover thrash frenzy" in the late 80s with their album *Eternal Nightmare* and the neurotic, machine-gun bark of frontman Sean Killian. Vio-Lence never pulled any punches; their music embodies the pure essence of street-level violence and speed, stripped of all unnecessary embellishment. Despite undergoing numerous lineup changes, their current touring configuration makes it clear that the guitar interplay and relentless rhythm section still cut with the intensity of a circular saw. Get ready for a massive stress test of the walls at the Fléda club.
The Little Prince
Our interpretation is not a conventional retelling of *The Little Prince*; rather, it is a unique fusion of music and spoken word that invites the audience to surrender to their imagination and offers a soothing touch to the soul. The recital features a stellar performance by well-known actor Jan Cina, who guides us through a magical world where everything truly important remains invisible to the eye. Together with singer Vendula Příhodová (alternating with Kateřina Bohatová), he presents original songs by Kryštof Marek, accompanied by the Unique Orchestra.
The performance is suitable for audiences of all ages.
Tereza Svojtková trio and The Jazzchat
The Jazzchat is the natural evolution of the band Jazzycats, following about five years of gradual development, lineup changes, and repertoire shifts. Our ensemble consists of vocals/flute, saxophone/violin, and a rhythm section of piano, double bass, and drums; we primarily perform jazz standards from the 1920s through the 1970s. We frequently perform in clubs and on smaller festival stages, but we also enjoy what we call "gastro-jazz"—music perfectly suited for parties, celebrations, weddings, and similar events. We don’t insist that the audience watch us intently from the first note to the last; as long as people are having a good time, that’s all that matters.
The concert will feature a guest performance by the Tereza Svojtková Trio.

A Tribute to Radim Hladík: MY PLAYING – Tour 2026
To mark what would have been the 80th birthday of legendary composer and guitarist Radim Hladík, the unique jazz-rock project *Nová syntéza* (New Synthesis) will be revived next year. The project pays homage to two cult LPs from the 1970s—both bearing the same name—originally recorded by the band Blue Effect in collaboration with the jazz orchestra JOČR.
Featuring Blue Effect, the CBC Big Band, and special guests, *Nová syntéza* will be performed just as it was envisioned by the genius of the Czech guitar, Radim Hladík. The core of the concert ensemble will consist of members from the final lineup of Blue Effect, accompanied by the CBC Big Band and a host of special guests.
SHKODRA ELEKTRONIKE (ALB)
Shkodra Elektronike – the Albanian phenomenon that conquered Eurovision!
Following their sensational success at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel—where they represented Albania with the captivating song "Zjerm"—the folktronica duo Shkodra Elektronike is coming to the Czech Republic for the very first time!
This exceptional project by two Albanian artists who emigrated to Italy in the early 1990s—producer Kolë Laca (known from the band Teatro degli Orrori) and singer-songwriter Beatriçe Gjergji—blends the raw emotion of Balkan folklore with a modern electronic sound and a striking visual aesthetic.
From Shkodra to Eurovision—a story you have to experience live!

The Eben Brothers
Bratři Ebenové is a band comprising the three Eben brothers (Marek, Kryštof, and David) and other leading Czech musicians (Pavel Skála, Jaromír Honzák, and Jiří Zelenka).
At the time their debut album *Malé písně do tmy* (1984) was released, the band operated as a trio of brothers—Marek, Kryštof, and David—and their approach was entirely unique within the Czech music scene. Sons of the renowned composer Petr Eben (1929–2007), they received a classical musical education while simultaneously absorbing influences from modern folk, jazz, and rock music. Their ability to draw from all these sources, combined with their skill in using various unconventional instruments, created a truly distinctive "Eben sound"—one that remains inimitable on the Czech scene. Furthermore, when paired with Marek’s exceptional lyrics, Bratři Ebenové have remained a unique presence in Czech music.
The music of Bizet’s Carmen embodies both French esprit and Spanish passion. After all, who isn’t familiar with its immortal operatic hits—the famous "Habanera" or the Toreador Escamillo’s aria? Yet, what if there is something more beneath this story of love’s fickleness?
It began with a slim novella by the French writer Prosper Mérimée about Don José, a man who—driven by a foolish passion for a wild Gypsy woman—deserted the army to become a smuggler and a murderer. Directed by Tomáš Pilař, this production of Carmen returns to the original story, revealing new layers of the characters; here, they are, above all, human beings hailing from vastly different backgrounds. It is not merely a tale of Carmen’s fickle, unbridled love—something the jealous José cannot come to terms with. It is a clash of two worlds: the orderly, tidy realm of José and Micaëla, bound by established rules, and the world of Gypsies and smugglers living day-to-day, free from laws and driven by immediate impulses. Their worlds suddenly collide, but this disparity sparks a tension and conflict that ultimately lead to the total destruction of both. Neither is able to prevent this, as neither is willing—or able—to yield.
Theory of Relativity
Why does time fly by with some people, yet drag on for ages with others? As it turns out, everything is relative.
The Czech premiere of the musical *The Theory of Relativity* offers a comic-book-style glimpse into the lives of students. Much like in applied physics, the hallway by the lockers demonstrates that distinct elements can combine to form a new, solid whole. This setting acts as a catalyst for unexpected interpersonal dynamics. Stylized, exaggerated visuals highlight the characters—presented as caricatures—along with their struggles, loves, and insecurities, all woven into a dynamic mosaic of life among the younger generation.
Richard Autner (SK)
Richard Autner is a Slovak composer, actor, and singer with a deep, charismatic voice.
His authentic songs and lyrics require attentive listening and often explore complex themes. He has collaborated musically with Zuzana Smatanová, Marek Rakovický, and, most recently, Šimon Bilina.
His band features Marek Žilinec (drums, percussion), Boris Čellár (guitar), Milan Koyš (bass), Valér Miko (piano), Janko Slezák (saxophone), and Karol Sipos (trumpet). The concert will showcase a selection of tracks from Autner’s debut album, *Odpovede*, alongside new songs currently being developed for his next full-length studio album.
Beyond music, Richard is known for his work in productions at the Slovak National Theatre, Aréna Theatre, and the P. O. Hviezdoslav Theatre, as well as for his roles in Slovak TV series and films and his appearance on the dance show Let’s Dance.
Hentai Corporation (Shirimming Tour) + Atari Terror
After centuries of the destructive power of "firewater," mucous-membrane-coating filth, and personal shit-storms, a new LP—*SHIRIME*—is festering its way out of us; and this autumn, we’re hitting the road to fuck up your cloacal mitochondria on the Shirimming Tour 2026! We won’t be alone in this autumn club-wrecking spree; we’re bringing along other prime examples of "diagnoses": Atari Terror and *mmnk*!
Atari Terror
A Prague-based crossover-metal pack that has been blending hardcore, metal, punk, and alternative music since 2004. Expect an energetic show and a wall of modern guitar sound.
mmnk
A guitar-driven oddity fueled by a punk attitude, cynicism, and dark humor. *mmnk* oscillate between progressive pop-punk, raw riffs, and the world of "New Weird Czechia."
In the words of Uncle Ráďa Ph.D.: "Strange creatures are bursting forth from the brown bloodstream! It’s high time to wake up those dead neuronal networks of yours. Shirime, I behold you! Terrify us and scatter the fog of indifference!"
Letní kapela
The band centered around Jaromír 99 builds upon his long-standing body of original work, while having also developed its own distinct, unmistakable sound over the years. Raw guitars meet melancholy, and straightforward songwriting blends with atmospheric soundscapes—all accompanied by lyrics that revisit themes of relationships, solitude, journeys, and the landscapes of the Jeseníky mountains.
The concert will feature tracks from their debut album, *Letní kapela*, and their more recent record, *Jako pes*, alongside other songs from Jaromír’s repertoire.
Over time, these December concerts have naturally become the concluding chapter of the band’s touring year.

"Dad, how do you sell a bride?" "What gave you the idea that someone would sell a bride, Hurvínek?" "Well, I’m reading here: The National Theatre Brno presents Bedřich Smetana’s opera *The Bartered Bride*. So, how does it work, Dad?" "Well, you see, it’s just make-believe... how can I put this... it’s a sort of trick to buy a bride for oneself." "Now I’m totally confused—is she being sold or bought?" "You know what, Hurvajz? Grab Žeryk and Mánička and let’s go to the opera; that’ll be easier than trying to explain it to you!"
Would you also like to know the real story behind the "bartered bride"? Smetana’s *The Bartered Bride* is an iconic opera, but this time we’ve decided to introduce it primarily to children. And since a comic opera should be truly entertaining, the Janáček Opera NdB ensemble has invited the best possible guides to join them. In this new family show, the famous puppet characters Spejbl, Hurvínek, and Mánička will introduce you to *The Bartered Bride* and the world of opera. Žeryk will be there too, along with the best musical highlights, as the beloved puppets will be joined by Janáček Opera NdB soloists and our special Smetana-themed mini-orchestra.
