Opening evening of the MEETING BRNO festival

The opening concert of the Festival Brno 2017 is at the same time the opening of the Czech-German Spring series of cultural events.

 E. W. Korngold – Violin concert D dur op. 35  F., Mendelsson Bartholdy – Symphony no. 5 d moll op. 107 "Reformation"

 It also recalls the double anniversary of the composer Erich Wolfgang Korngold (born May 29th, 1897 in Brno, died November 29th, 1957 in Los Angeles). Korngold was born in a German-speaking Brno family of Jewish faith, grew up in Vienna from the age of four, and emigrated to the United States in 1938, where he became one of the most important composers of film music.

The extract from his work will be accompanied by the Raformation Symphony of Felix Mendelsson Bartholdy that recalls this year's 500 anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.
