violin Erdingerová Klara, Brno Philharmonic, conductor Alexander Liebreich
• Aged only 14, the young hopeful Brno violinist performs an extremely virtuosic piece by Brno native and genius of the violin H. W. Ernst (1812–1865), considered a successor to Paganini
• Ernst’s spectacular rondo scherzo on a motif reminiscent of Papageno’s playing his pan flute in Mozart’s The Magic Flute
• Overture from that opera and Haffner symphony as reminders of the Mozart anniversaries we celebrate this year
• Karl Amadeus Hartmann’s Fourth symphony, completed shortly after WWII and reflecting fresh experiences of the war years
• Alexander Liebreich, chief conductor of the Katowice Radio Symphony, artistic director and principal conductor of the Munich Chamber Orchestra
