The well-known singer Kateřina Göttlichová will present her new project at the Brno Music Marathon. Many know her from her work in the bands BraAgas and Carnem. On her debut solo album "Zimnice", which was released in autumn 2021, she embarked on a new musical path, but still within the limits of folk and ethnic music. In her new work, the multiple winner of the Anděl award combines original world music, elements of electronics and the lyrics of Czech folk songs in the instrumentation of nyckelharpa, guitar, double bass, trombone and keyboards. The album is built on the medieval stringed instrument nyckelharpa. The eleven-song recording contrasts the texts of Slavic folk songs with the author's folk music in contrast to today's technologies. With a sensitive compositional approach, he brings new contrasts and emotional context to the themes and stories of popular texts.
