In the 25 years of its existence, the Epoque Quartet has established itself at home and abroad as a distinctive representative of a wide-ranging genre spectrum, the only limit of which is that it must sound good when performed by a string quartet. In addition to the canonical compositions of classical music, the gentlemen also regularly play compositions from the category of alternative rock, jazz from swing to contemporary free jazz, film music, minimalism to compositions that are more or less difficult to fit into one of these boxes. However, a complete novelty in the ensemble's history so far is the inclination towards Czech and Moravian folk music, which is currently being arranged for the Epoque Quartet by their old friend and new violist Alexej Aslamas.
The concert is taking place as part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the elevation of the Chickens to the city.
