Three of the four numbers in this concert are transcriptions of compositions originally created for a different cast or for a different purpose. Sukova's Elegy op. 23 with the subtitle "under the impression of Zeyer's Vyšehrad" was created a year after the death of this writer as an introduction to a live picture originally for solo violin and cello accompanied by strings, harmonium and harp. Later, Suk himself adapted it for a much more practical piano trio composition. Březin's Kawasaki's Rose is a suite from the author's music for Jan Hřebejk's three chamber films, first commissioned by the Guarneri Trio Prague (1st movement) and later refined for the Dvořák Trio. Janáček's popular Sonata for violin and piano was adapted for cello by Eben Trio member Jiří Bárta, who at one time was also one of the three performers of the world premiere of Petr Eben's Piano Trio, in which the author, better known as a brilliant organist and improviser, took the piano part .
