Why things go wrong

The premiere performance of the group 420PEOPLE entitled Why things go wrong, choreographed by Sylva Šafková and performed by the pair of dancers Michal Heriban and Viktor Konvalinka, created especially for the Studio Maiselovka space, brings through contemporary dance the unique theme of the (im)moral, ethically problematic character of human behavior, which, although often overlooked, has serious impacts on the lives of everyone around. Everyone has probably experienced a situation where everything was going in the right direction until it all went wrong in the end. Sometimes it's just coincidence, but often it's possible to identify a specific culprit. The performance in a serious way touches on the serious topic of the evil that such persons cause.

"We consider a person an 'Asshole' when they systematically claim special advantages in interpersonal relationships based on an ingrained sense of entitlement that immunizes them against other people's complaints".

The production was inspired by the book Assholes: a Theory by Aaron James.

Why things go wrong was nominated among the 24 top productions within the Aerowaves platform for 2024.
