The band describes itself as folk-noir surrealist music without pretense, just with courage and a strong will. It is music that will go down in musical history as the voice and sound of Ukrainian resistance and global unity. Balaklava Blues, falling somewhere between traditional songwriting and a full-fledged multimedia techno show, is also not afraid to experiment with Ukrainian polyphony and other musical styles. The formation of the group dates back to 2014, when founding members Mark and Marichka met on the Kyiv Maidan.
