Ludwig van Beethoven: String Quartet No. 10 E flat major Op. 74 “Harp”

 Three works influenced by internal problems of their authors will be performed in the suggestive environs of the medieval fortified church: Ervín Schulhoff needed to come to terms with the public taste of the 1920s which had been subverted by the war, Bohuslav Martinů with his decision to return home from America come what may and Beethoven with his romantic disappointment and with Napoleon’s occupation of his beloved Vienna.
