The French Van Kuijk Quartet has decided to perform works of the classic Viennese composers from their most mature creative periods: Haydn imbued Sunset with his good-humoured outlook on life, while Beethoven used his opus 127 to overcome a personal crisis after which he started writing five monumental quartets that are still a challenge for every new generation of performers.
